Ans. Civil Engineering and CSE are the trendiest branches as reckoned by the leading companies. If you will opt for a better college over a preferred branch for pursuing engineering then it is suggested to switch your opinion.  Seeing this, you must choose Civil Engineering at Jadavpur University over KGEC. Following are the reasons for choosing the same: The faculty at Jadavpur University is comparatively better than Kalyani Government College. They are well-experienced and most of the faculty members hold a doctorate degree.  The student crowd at JU is helping and competitive. One of the main highlights is the students’ club in the university. You will receive good exposure. Although the placement scenario for the civil industry is deteriorating in the entire nation, it is still better to take it up at Jadavpur University than Kalyani for CSE.  The mass recruiters are mainly limited to companies such as TCS, Infosys, etc. at Kalyani. Whereas in JU, you would be able to opt for financing and consultancy firms as well. They certainly provide contenting packages. It is suggested that you choose your preferred stream if you ultimately have planned on pursuing higher studies like GATE, GRE, etc. If you are planning on doing MBA or some job then JU would be the best fit.  You should keep in mind that the name tag of your undergraduate institute always stays with you hence choose wisely.Read more

Ans. Before jumping to the conclusion, let us understand all the aspects of the college which can make you feel that it is good for you or not. Ragging – There is absolutely no ragging on the campus except for some fun interactions and are actually good ways to build up a rapport with them. Physical or mental assault is absolutely not permitted on campus. Education – The college has an adequate number of professors but the problem lies in having “good” professors. No doubt that they are highly qualified and are highly educated but they cannot deliver the same in an interesting way  Placement – Hardly one or two companies come for core civil engineering jobs and the rest of others offer IT sector or sales and marketing jobs. There are many students who happily take them but if you are one who wants to do a job in a core civil engineering company then it is really difficult. Other than that Heritage Institute of Technology is a good college. If you have no problem with the above-mentioned things then it is a very good choice otherwise it may not look so attractive to you.Read more

Ans. LNCT is one of the best private colleges in Madhya Pradesh yet, pursuing civil engineering is futile. Following are the reasons for the same:  The placement scenario for core branches is very bad. Hardly, any core company visits for recruitment. Even if they do, only 2-3 students are recruited.  You have to look for a job on your own. Not many opportunities are provided for civil engineering.  The department offers less practical knowledge and more theoretical knowledge. The faculty members are not good at the college and the labs are not fully equipped.  LNCT Bhopal has a rule for 75% attendance which will only waste your time. You won't be able to prepare for competitive exams like GATE till the 3rd year. Preparing for these exams will be very hectic. Less attendance means fewer sessional marks which will degrade your CGPA. LNCT Bhopal is not a good option if you are looking for a career in engineering. You will have to manage your studies on your own. Read more

Apart from the GATE rank, your technical knowledge, aptitude, and skills would give you an edge during campus recruitment. According to the recent placement highlights the average and highest CTC offered was 3.5 LPA and 24 LPA. Do not go for Software Companies once you are done with Civil Engineering as you would have to venture into alien fields of learning for acquiring related knowledge and expertise. Ans. The Civil Engineering dept. at IIT Ropar believes in growing as well as standing out. The Head of the Department, Professor Deepak Kashyap is a highly experienced member of the faculty and has taught at IIT Roorkee. The students look up to him a lot. If we talk about the infrastructure, then new and advanced labs have been commissioned. In addition to that, a state-of-the-art Soil-Water-Plant lab has been set up which covers an area of 2.5 acres in the new campus. A number of text and reference books journals for research have been procured by the institute to be made available for the students for their convenience. The faculty is in constant interaction with the authorities of the Government of Punjab for organizing activities that involve collaboration.
