Course Structure

The course is designed in a very systematic way where different courses and papers are cumulated under one master degree program. In addition to this, the course structure also focuses on the overall skill development of the students and thus the syllabus is divided into theory classes, research practices and practical sessions which provide the students with the necessary skills.

Traditional Textiles and Apparel Designing

Introduction to Traditional Indian textiles, Embroideries of IndiaDesign Analysis with respect to apparel and textile design, Introduction of Apparel Design with respect to Fashion, Layout Planning

The focus of the course is to impart knowledge about the traditional textiles of India and also to enable the students to familiarize with the essentials of apparel making.

Advanced Nutrition and Institutional Management

Advance Nutrition, Food Adulteration, Food Laws, Food Packaging & Labeling, Food Packaging materials, Sensory evaluation of food, Leavening agents, Concept & definition of catering services in various Institution, Type of services – cafeteria service, Hospital service, vendor, etc., self-service, Type of menu – Cyclic, Al-a-carte, Table-d-hotel etc., Serving meals for large groups & its management – Hostel, Canteen, Hospital, Railways & Air lines, Hotel.

The main aim of the paper is to enable to understand about catering management for various organization

Life Span Development(LSD)

Concept of L.S.D. and need to study development through the life cycles, Principles of growth & development, Prenatal Development & infancy (0-2 yrs.), Early childhood (2-6yrs), Late childhood (7-12yrs), Adolescence (12-18yrs), Adult hood and old age

The paper deals with concepts which enable students to become acquainted with development stage from birth to old age and also develop awareness of Important aspect of development during the whole life span.

The paper deals with the significance of Research methodology in Home Science, the types, tools & methods of research to develop the ability to construct data gathering instruments of the research design

Therapeutic Management & Community Nutrition

Therapeutic meal management, Planning following therapeutic diets, Diet in relation to diseases of the gastrointestinal traits, Diarrhea, constipation and duodenal ulcer etc., Community Nutrition, Method and aids for imparting nutrition education.

The paper is necessary as it helps the students Know the principle of diet therapy and Understand the modification of normal diet for therapeutic purposes.

Resource Management & Interior Designing

Management, Management of Resources, Consumer behavior & Problems, Housing, Interior Design.

The paper deals with the concepts of interior design to create an awareness about management in the family as well as the other system.
