MA Persian: Admission Process

The admission procedure for this course involves both a merit-based selection procedure and a common entrance test based on the admission procedure (as seen across various Universities and colleges in the country).

  • Students who have completed their UG level exams with a minimum of 55 per cent mark (45 per cent to 50 per cent reserved for students) may apply to colleges offering a course.
  • Some universities/colleges are conducting a common entrance test for admission to MA courses, so students would have to apply for such exams.
  • Students must qualify for these exams (for which they should be eligible to take part) in order to be admitted to the course.
  • After the test has been carried out, a merit list of finally qualified candidates shall be drawn up and candidates shall be invited by the respective university or college to give advice on the admission process.
  • The final allocation of the candidate's seats takes place after the admission process and the candidate is asked to pay the fee for the course and to register for the respective academic year.
  • The new academic year begins after the completion of all of the above-mentioned processes.
  • However, in most colleges, the admission process would be a straight-forward task involving a college with a two to the three-fold cut-off for the course (or more so until the seats are filled) and candidates satisfying the cut-off percentage of college attendance and admissions.
