MA Persian: What is it about?

MA Persian Course is a foreign language based specific course which aims at developing specialization of language among the PG students. Since most of the students who opt for this course have some sought of background in the language the PG course utilizes that basic understanding and knowledge of the language in candidates to build a strong foundational and specialized framework in regards to the study of the language.

MA Persian: Eligibility

Candidate must have passed the UG or equivalent examination with at least 55% of marks from a recognized state/private/deemed or central University.

  • Relaxation of 5% to 10% is given to reserved categories.
  • He/She shall not be having any backlog or compartment in any of the subject/Subjects at UG level that is yet to be cleared at the time of taking admissions.

Apart from the above mentioned eligibility criteria’s various colleges and institutes may have their own additional criteria’s which the students would have to satisfy in order to take admission.

MA Persian: Admission Process

The admission process for this course involves both merit-based selection procedure and a common entrance test based admission process (as seen across various Universities and colleges in the country).

  • Students who have passed their UG level examinations with a minimum of 55% marks (45% to 50% for reserved category students) can fill application in colleges offering the course.
  • Some Universities/Colleges conduct a common entrance test for admission into MA courses hence students would have to make an application for such exams.
  • Students have to qualify these exams (for which they should be eligible to appear) in order to get admission in the course.
  • After the conduct of the test, a merit list of finally qualified candidates is prepared and candidates are invited for counselling cum admission process by the respective university or college.
  • After admission process final allotment of seats to the candidate takes place and the candidate is asked to deposit the fee for the course and register for the respective academic year.
  • The new academic year begins after the completion of all the above processes.

However, in most of the colleges, the admission process would be a straight forward task which would involve college displaying cut-off for the course two to three times (or more till the seats are filled) and candidates satisfying the cut-off percentage visiting the college and getting admissions.
