Gauhati University, also known as GU, is the oldest university in North East India. It was established in the year 1948 and is located in Jalukbari, Gauhati. It was moved to this campus in the year 1955-56. The University is accredited with a grade of ‘A’ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council.
