Ques. What will be the better choice for marketing, BIMM or PIBM? Why?

● Top Answer By Admin on 26 Jul 21

Ans. For an MBA in marketing, PIBM is definitely a better option than BIMM. The points below state some of the key highlights of PIBM, along with some advantages and disadvantages of both the institutes, which will support the choice. PGDM from PIBM is a much better choice than that of BIMM, having a guarantee of a secured future after passing out of the institute. PIBM provides the best available training in separate sessions, which is one of the most vital aspects required to get a good placement in MNCs. In such training sessions, every individual is mentored with utmost care and personal assistance methods. Guest lecture sessions are organized by the institute in which mentors from the corporate world visit and guide the students. Throughout the sessions, you will be made to go through several Industrial visits, winter and summer internships, live projects, and assignments. This will offer proper practical knowledge, be interactive, and have good exposure to the corporate world. Various students have been offered PPOs by top companies. In the in-campus placement, every student in PIBM is easily placed, being well trained through the mock GD and PI classes. PIBM does not maximize seats in its batches. The total number of seats available in the institute is limited, which decreases the competition in placement. Due to this low competition in placement, students need not work hard for their preparation. Talking about BIMM, there are some disadvantages that make it the less preferred option among the two. The main problem faced is the batch size, which is huge. There is a lot of competition in the placement of BIMM just because of this reason. The faculties in BIMM do not pay as much personal attention as required for individual students. This is also an effect of the huge batch size. Therefore, considering all the points stated above, it is clear that PIBM is definitely a better choice, having a much better training facility and placement than BIMM.Read more

● Top Answer By Janvi Bhambri on 15 Jul 21

Ans. PIBM and IILM are both good institutes when it comes to MBA or management studies. IILM is comparatively old and also has a legacy of more than 25 years which gives it an edge over PIBM Pune. Moreover IILM has 3 campuses in the Delhi and Noida region and also in cities like Jaipur, Lucknow etc. IILM is the better of the two due to the reasons below. Curriculum: Its curriculum has been widely accepted and has been globally recognized adding to its list of achievements. Location: Its location brings it closer to the industries with tons of job opportunities. Also, it is located near the capital of the country. Alumni Network: Strong alumni network of more than 15000+ students who are present globally in almost every MNC. Placements: More than 300 companies visit the campus drive every year for placements. According to the recent placement highlights the highest CTC offered at the institute is 5 LPA. Higher Studies Abroad: It has tie-ups with some of the leading institutes of the USA and UK. Students can go to summer studies camp or for a special course. Campus Life :

The campus boasts of one of the most beautiful campuses in the country - scenic, hill-top and away from the main city. You can well imagine the Campus life. Life on the hills is pretty amazing with the folks around who become friends and family for the 2 years. One of the key features about Symbiosis is it's diversity. The gender ratio is well-balanced, and students are from different states, different walks of life, there are good amount of freshers as well as experienced ones. There are different cells and clubs that take care of each aspect of the extra-curricular activities, taking place all year round. There are fests, campus events, sports activities, competitions and seminars, conferences and a lot more keep on happening throughout the year, providing a plethora of opportunities for one to explore, learn and showcase his/her potential on a platform that one cannot miss to notice. The learning experience outside the classroom is even bigger than what it is inside.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Course curriculum is diverse in the 1st semester with some interesting subjects and becomes more streamlined and industry-focused as per student's specialization in the 2nd year. The exam structure is semester-wise (4 semesters, 2 semesters in one year each) along with internal tests and engaging assignments, of-course. Students can also opt for virtual internships or live projects from the companies. There's a dedicated committee that works towards providing such opportunities. There are guest lectures where the speakers are invited from the industry.

Placement Experience :

Most of the organizations that come for recruitment are agencies - media agencies, digital marketing agency, PR agency; and few corporates. Each company has its own process for selection - be it aptitude test, GD, case study tasks, and Personal Interviews. Placement season begins from November for final year students. The same is for internships as well. There are separate prep and guidance sessions as to how one should go about preparing CV and for interviews.

The course fees for both years of the college costs 4,95,000 each year. This makes it a total expenditure of 9,90,000 for the whole 2 year degree. This is quite expensive but also reasonable as the facilities provided by the college are really good.

Admission :

The college accepts admission on the basis of their entrance examination SNAP and further GD-PI rounds conducted by the college. The college requires the candidate to have a bachelors or graduation with an aggregate of 50%..

Placement Experience :

The college offers placement opportunities for students in companies like Deloitte, Wizcraft, ITC, Reliance and many such companies. These have an average package between 3-4 Lakhs, and the highest may reach till 8-9.

College Events :

Our college actively pushed students to maintain a healthy balance between academics and extracurricular activities. We participated in various activities like tree plantation, yoga day, photography competitions, etc. Sports day was celebrated once every year, and it was the most fun. I participated in the college volleyball team which won the silver medal at the annual sports day.

Admission :

I appeared for the SNAP entrance exam which is a management level entrance exam organized by the symbiosis group. My admission was done on the basis of merit. I applied for the MBA program through online mode, uploaded all the relevant documents, along with my exam scores and waited for the merit list. Overall, it was a pretty smooth process.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Our course structure was very dynamic, I would say. Theory to practical ratio is 35:65, which means more emphasis is paid towards practical learning since students can get hands-on experience with the tools and all the latest technologies. The library was another assisting factor in the quality of teaching that was being imparted there.
