Ques. How is IIM Rohtak for MBA finance? How is the crowd and professors? What is the real average package?

● Top Answer By Keshav Jindal on 31 Jul 21

Ans. IIM Rohtak offers an MBA degree and you can take up a specialization in finance in your second year of study. As one of my friends studied there, I might be able to answer your question. Crowd The crowd/batch consists of everyone including you. The student crowd overall is really good and diverse. They are usually helpful. Seniors also help to solve problems, be it about studies, participation, involvement in class, etc. The crowd will depend on the overall behavior of the students. Faculty The faculty here is really helpful and cooperative. They are highly educated and well versed in their particular fields. A good faculty will result in a good performance by the college and its students. Placements:- This is the most important thing to consider while selecting a college. The student profiles, the summer internship performance, your academic as well as non-academic performance in college, the industry dynamics, and many other factors determine the placements. For your better knowledge, these are the final placements for the 2019-2021 batch. Categories MBA (Finance) at IIM Rohtak Course Fee 16.55 lakh Highest CTC 22.8 LPA Average CTC 13.74 LPA Median CTC 13.5 LPA No. of Recruiters 100+ No. of New Recruiters 72+ Many reputed companies participate in their placement program. Ques. Which one should I choose: MBA at IIT Kharagpur (operations) or IMT Ghaziabad (finance)?

● Top Answer By Keshav Jindal on 31 Jul 21

Ans. Opting for a field in which you already possess some knowledge would be beneficial rather than going for an entirely new field. You are experienced in industrial structures and have a background in civil engineering. Therefore, it would be advisable to go for an MBA in Operations instead of MBA in Finance. Progressing in this particular field in the future would be swift and easy for you as well as Operations was included in your major. Evaluate your priorities and then make a decision. If you bear doubts regarding it then you might as well prefer going for the MBA program at IIT Kharagpur. The management departments at IITs are developing with highly qualified management faculties as well as excellent students. It is an outstanding campus that would lead to your overall development. Categories MBA (Operations) at IIT Kharagpur MBA (Finance) at IMT Ghaziabad Course Fee 10.30 lakh 19.53 lakh Highest CTC 20 LPA 22 LPA Average CTC 14 LPA 11 LPA Recruiting Companies ITC, P&G, Deloitte, KPMG, etc. Goldman Sachs, Google, DE shaw, Credit Suisse, etc. Within the two-year MBA course, your skills would be enhanced in the competitive environment provided by the institute. The vigorous activities would be a plus point in building you professionally for the corporate world.Read more

Ques. Can I do a PGDM in finance from Taxila Business School? I have cleared the MAT exam.

● Top Answer By Janvi Bhambri on 16 Jul 21

Ans. It will be better if you don’t consider MBA from Taxila business school as an option. While considering a B-school you should always look for a college that has great infrastructure, curriculum, faculties, environment, placement opportunities, and learning opportunities. And Taxila business school will not fulfill the above criteria. You should select business schools that have ranked well in the Times Business school rankings. Try to choose Tier 1 MBA institutions. If you have a good MAT score along with a good academic record then you can surely get a good institution. Also, if possible try to score well in CAT, ATMA, and other examinations too. That way you will have better options.Read more

Campus Life :

Institute level competitions with other IIM and NIBM is a constant ritual of the institute. ISR, MARKIOSYS, OpClava Club are names of few active club that organize engaging activities for the batch having maximum participation.

Admission :

Graduation made me eligible for the degree, appear, and qualify for SNAP exams, which is later followed by Personal Interview, Group Exercise, and Written Ability Test. Qualify all the four stages and you got yourself a seat.

Admission :

Admission to MBA require a lot of hard work. Firstly, I gave an entrance exam CAT for admission to the course. Besides this, graduation degree is minimum eligibility. After receiving the results of the exam I was called for a group discussion followed by personal interview, and then I was granted the admission.

Campus Life :

We organised and managed many events at the campus. We organised fests, often many talks were organised, there were also certified workshops at the campus in financial marketing and other topics. Cultural events were also organised.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The course of MBA is just of two year duration. Per year fee is Rs 4,00,000. So we had to pay a total amount of Rs 8,00,000 for the entire course. Thus the fee for the programme can be considered as quite expensive.

Faculty :

The professors here are highly knowledgeable and particular about studies as well. If any student needs any help with research works, they are always there to help. They not only impart skills through classroom teaching but also conduct practicals, that any student can grasp easily and won't face any problems during the exams. Our faculties are always engaged in research works, consulting students and many more.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

When it comes to the fee structure, it might be a bit expensive for some students to avail courses and being a government-owned institute. But when you look at the infrastructure, hostel facilities, experienced professors on board, it's all worth it. The total course fees for my 2 years program is 8 lakhs which includes tuition fees and examination fees.

Campus Life :

If you are talking about extra-curricular activities, cultural events then our institute leads in it. The institute offers various seminars, workshops and many more which brings exposure for many students. We even have NCC and NSS troops. Many students are able to showcase their talents in the sports and annual meetings and get exciting rewards on wining.

Campus Life :

The college had a diversity and people from different backgrounds used to come and study. We had a mutual respect for each other and the events celebrated it made us to know each other better. The infrastructure was beautifully constructed with big libraries and laboratories with services like Gym, Yoga Centre, swimming pool, Sports, golf course. The overall environment of the college was very friendly and it was a ragging free campus.

Admission :

We have to give CAT examinations to apply for the MBA course to this college. After clearing the entrance I applied to the college through their official website and fill it in the application form. The requirement was 50% of the bachelor marks and 50% of the CAT. I was called upon the campus for my counselling where the interview session was conducted and got selected for the MBA in finance course.

Placement Experience :

The college used to arrange placements at the end of last year various well-known forms like club Mahindra, Amazon, Google, Dell and HCL used to come and interviewers. The selection was on the basis of self merit and academic performances. The average package was around Rs.10 lakhs per year with 70% of the students getting placed.

The course curriculum satisfies all the needs of today's world that includes practical knowledge as well as theoretical knowledge. The exam structure is very good. Is is designed in such a way that student can gain most out of it. And the faculty of the college is excellent. The faculty is very professional in their work. The faculty is ever ready to help out. Placement Experience :

Placements are pretty average in our college. Some good companies do visit our campus but most of them come for a pool campus process in which the number of your competitors paints a depressing image in itself. College does organize some mock interviews and personality development sessions in order to boost the confidence of the students.

Campus Life :

The infrastructure of the college is good. The seating arrangement in the classroom is excellent. Every classroom is air-conditioned. They also provide Wi-Fi facility. The library has different kinds of books. Cultural activities and festive celebrations would bring students from different verticals together.

College Events :

Every year, our college organizes an event named Cultural. It includes different sports, games, fashion shows, singing, and other activities. Many sports activities are organized throughout the year. Even our faculty emphasizes on maintaining a balance between academics and extracurricular activities.

Placement Experience :

The placements are not very great here. You need to struggle very hard in order to get a good placement. usually, the job you are placed in doesn't pay you enough. Instead of placements, its better if you go for an internship, get some experience and then start searching for a job.

Admission :

I graduated from B.Tech with grades above 85%. I also appeared for exams like CAT AND GATE. The grades were satisfactory. Then i opted for MBA and started applying for colleges. Later on I was shortlisted by SVM and I paid the required fee and finalised my admission.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee is feasible. The facilities provided and the fee when compared, it does seem okay. The fee can be afforded by everybody and is such a great thing. My tuition fee was only 15k at that time. The hostel and examination fee are to be paid separately though.

Campus Life :

College Fests like TechnoParv was an annual deal. Every year this fancy event was hosted where in singers would come to perform and there were fashion shows that were held for students to participate. A lot of extracurricular activities like nukkad nataks, debate competitions, dance competitions were hosted every year.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum was interested. Since I pursued my MBA in Finance, I had a lot of financial accounting subjects in my Final year since it was the specialisation year. In first year I studied general management. The subjects were all in all good but IPS can definitely improve in adding more practical skills.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The semester fees was approx 30,000 for every semester. But apart from that there are a lot of other charges such as admission charges, registration charges, extracurricular charges, exams charges etc. That brings the total semester fees to somewhat 40,000. The fees for the total course is approx 2 lakhs.
