Most of the colleges offering MBA in Hospital Administration entail a deep understanding of management principles in the first year of the program. Students are taught concepts of economics, statistics, mathematics, marketing, finance, and human resources from the grassroots level.

Each semester consists of theory papers and a paper which consists of a project report on practical training up to Semester III. The candidate will have to take up a dissertation and carry out a detailed study on any issue/functional area of a hospital in semester IV. Students are also required to go for hospital training during the course.
