Eligibility for MBA in Media Management

Candidates wishing to pursue the course need to an undergraduate degree in any discipline/ stream with a minimum aggregate score of 50%. Admission :

I applied for the course of Media Management in MCU, Bhopal through its website. After applying I was given online admit card and a local exam centre was assigned to me in my Native state as chosen by me. I went and wrote my Exams. It was a mixture of both Subjective as well as Objective questions. After two weeks, the results were announced and my name was there on the merit list. Then, I visited the main campus of Bhopal where we were called for Counselling. The counselling was conducted by a group of experts in Media as well as Management. I was asked various questions related to the subject I opted to study to analyze my basic knowledge and then I was selected for the course. I had to pay the admission fee online through MPONLINE portal and then we were told to join the classes from the assigned date by the university.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course as well as curriculum is practical. Every chapter involves some sort of case study and we were always taken to Industrial tours to understand the topics which were taught in classroom, practically and in real life scenario. The course and my university had provided me apt resources to gain the skills that were needed in the corporate world. Our department provides specialization in Advertising and Marketing Communications, E-commerce, Corporate Communication and Entertainment Communication.

College Events :

There are no specific techincal fests organised, instead there are Technical sessions of all the departments existing in the university. Our Department has Management Fest in which Management Schools from different parts of the country participate in various events. The annual cultural and sports fest in our college is Pratibha, where students showcase their talent in dancing, singing, acting, public speaking and other cultural and sports events.

Campus Life :

Both indoors and outdoor sports activities are vividly appreciated. University provides sports gear for different sports. In total, the facilities provided by the college includes the a large sports complex, an auditorium, digital computer labs, and many more facilities. Cultural diversity is very much visible in the university, as there are students from different backgrounds in our University.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Every semester we had to study 7 subjects in total. For the first two sem. the subjects were predefined, while from second semester the curriculum bifurcated into core subjects and elective subjects. We studied a wide variety of topics like accounting, branding, managerial economics, organisational behaviour. The curriculum was a bit exhausting.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

During my batch, our fee was a mere 20k. It was pretty much feasible for me. The entire university is very cost-efficient and allow the students from a financially weaker background to pursue their dreams of higher education. Consequently, the entrance exam and the competition was pretty stiff for the program.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Course structure was pretty good and I was satisfied with it. We were given a lot of assignments that were to be submitted on time. A mandatory internship was also part of our curriculum and in the final year, we were supposed to submit a dissertation. While most of the teaching was from the perspective of the media industry, like media laws, advertising, strategic management, etc.

Alumni/Alumna :

Alumni meet is organized for providing a platform for alumni and college students to interact, share experiences and thoughts. The alumni meet during my batch was pretty good and all the alumni tried motivating students especially towards entrepreneurship by enlisting the benefits of start-up culture and sharing their success stories.

Placement Experience :

Placements were not so good in our college and almost 60% of our batch got placed. We received enough assistance from the placement cell. Some good companies do visit our campus for the placement drive but the packages offered were not that good. Some of my batchmates were offered 20,000 per month.
