Although national-level management entrance tests are kind of an obligatory necessity for admission to an MBA course, renowned institutes like the Bennett University, Noida and Amity University allow entry to the course without any admission test. These b-schools are also known for their activeness and efficiency in placing successful graduates into fortune-500 companies.

Note: although some institutions allow students to be exempted from national level entrance tests, they may ask for an additional group discussion and/or personal interview round.

  • GD/PI - personal interview section of IIM selection carries a total weightage of 24 out of 50. Whereas, the total CAT score of a candidate holds 15. This shows the importance of PI rounds in the selection process. One of the best preparation tips to ace GD and Personal Interview rounds is to stay updated with what’s happening around the globe. Not just national issues, but their impact on the economy and businesses.

Note: some institutions like IIM Calcutta do not organize a group discussion round but sessions of personal interview.

  • Final Admission List - the final admission list is prepared either on the basis of the weightage secured by a candidate in the respective entrance exam or on a first come first serve basis. While preparing the final list, a candidate’s academic performance and work experience are also given some weightage. Below is an estimate of the average weightage given to each criterion while preparing the final list of candidates selected for admission.

Criteria Weightage

Ques. What is advisable, to join the PGDMM/PGDPM at NITIE or get a job?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 20 Aug 21

Ans. It's a subjective question and mostly depends on your profile. PGDMM would be advantageous, if you are a fresher, especially with a mechanical or manufacturing background. It is better in terms of securing a good profile, a good package (Avg. 12 LPA), and robust manufacturing domain command. A few years of work experience would be preferable for the PGDPM course, but it is not required. It's a safe option to play for both freshmen and those with a little experience because it improves your profile, package, and adds the rich experience of a top MBA school - NITIE.Read more
