The eligibility criteria for candidates who seek admission to the course are as follows:

  1. Candidates are required to qualify their Bachelor’s degree in either B.Tech or B.E in electrical engineering or telecommunication with a minimum aggregate of 50% and above passed from a recognized university listed under UGC/AIU.
  2. The applicants are supposed to clear the entrance examination held by reputed institutions such as GATE/JEE/NET etc.
  3. Candidates seeking admission to IIT are required to clear the IIT-JEE entrance examination.

M.E in Electronics and Telecommunication: Admission Process

Admission to the program is done on the basis of holding a qualification of Bachelor’s degree in B.Tech or B.E in the stream of electronics with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks and above from a recognized university listed under UGC/AIU. Candidates are supposed to clear the entrance examination such as GATE/JEE advanced held at the entry level by the colleges to further with the admission process for PG level programs. However, the entrance tests held by different colleges may vary from institution to institution as per the rules formulated by each.

Admissions are done based on the merit list, the cut-off marks for which it is subject to differ for different institutions. Ans. NIT Trichy has great placements for branches like CSE and ECE. Most of the recruiting companies give preference to B.Tech students rather than M.Tech. But as far as Communications Engineering is concerned, you will be allowed to appear for placement drives held by semiconductor companies with B.Tech students.  There are quite a few companies that prefer Communications students over VLSI. Many students end up being placed in dream semiconductor companies. Out of say, 35 students, only 1 or 2 are not placed. The placements are definitely improving over the years. The institute offers an excellent placement record of 92-95% for the undergraduates every year.  Placement Highlights: NIT Surathkal witnessed 80% placements in MTech. Around 286 companies visited the campus in 2019. Both the institute offers decent placements for the M.Tech in ECE. IISc has an Office of Career Counselling and Placement(OCCap), which takes care of the placement of the institute. The major recruiters at IISC include Microsoft, Flipkart, Adobe, Qualcomm and government agencies like HP and Bharat Petroleum. The average placement package offered in the 2019 placement drive was 15 lakhs. The internship hiring of the 2020-21 batch had the highest stipend of 1.15 lakh per months while the average was 57,000/- per month.  The average placement rate for MTech at IITM was 66% in the 2019 placement drive. Ans. Both, IIT Bhubaneswar and IIIT Bangalore offer decent M.Tech in electronics and communication programs and provide good placement so it’s difficult to choose one institute over the other. Given below are a few factors which the students are required to consider before selecting between the two colleges:- Placement:In terms of placement, the average CTC of IIT Bhubaneswar stands out to be 11.5 lakhs/annum. Companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Oracle, IBM, etc visit the IIT Bhubaneswar campus for placement drive. Few well-known PSU named ISRO, IOCL, and ONGC were also part of the placement in 2019. Apart from the offered jobs, the final year students are offered internships with a good amount of pay.
