Master of Fine Arts: Course Structure

MFA degree course is aimed at imparting knowledge on principles of Art and Culture. The course delivery method for this course includes seminars, lectures, workshops, practical lab work. In the last semester, the students also have to submit a research project and this forms the syllabus for the last semester. In the final evaluation, class assignments, end-semester exams, internships and research project are taken into account.

Scheme of Assessment

A student in M.F.A. is assessed on the basis of theory exams, internal assessments, and practical exams. Practical exam of 100 marks is conducted in every even semester, while theory exam for every course weighs 80 marks with internals assessment of 20 marks, which together makes 100 marks for every course.

History of Indian Art Pre-Historic Painting, Sculptures of Indus Valley, Sculptures of Mauryan Period, Sculptures of Sunga Period, Sculptures of Khushan Period, Sculptures of Andhra Period, Sculptures of Gupta Period, The Age of Classical Painting, Early Miniatures from Eastern and Western India. This is a course on the study of Indian Art.
History of Indian Art upto A.D. 1850 Post Classical Sculptures, South Indian Bronzes: Chola, Mughal Painting: From Akbar to Shahjahan, Deccani Painting: Bijapur, Golconda & Ahmednagar, Rajasthan Painting, Pahari Painting This course deals with the history of Indian Art
History of European Art Per-Historic-Cave Art, Portable objects, Egyptian-Old Kingdom Great sphinx at Giza, Prince Raholep and Wife Nafret, New Kingdom-Queen Nefertiti, Corner of coffin of Tutan Khamen, Greek Art-Kore, Korus, Hera from Samos, Transitional phase-Charioteer East and west pediment Temple of Zeus, Olympia, Classical-Doryphorus, Riace Warrior, Discobolus, 2 pediments of Parthenon Sculptures.
