MSc Toxicology: What is it About?

MSc Toxicology is a field which deals with the study of toxins and other harmful chemical substances which have an adverse effect on human and other living organisms. Students will learn about the relationship between doses and their effect on the exposed organisms It is a subfield of bioscience.

MSc Toxicology involves observing and reporting symptoms, mechanisms, detection, and treatments of toxic substances, in particular relation to the poisoning in humans. It includes environmental agents and chemical compounds found in nature, as well as pharmaceutical compounds that are synthesized for medical use by humans

The course was developed in such a way that after completion of the degree students have the knowledge about the toxins, their mode of action, detection, and treatment.

The students seeking admission to MSc Toxicology can choose various specialization subjects also like forensic toxicology, medical toxicology, occupational toxicology, aquatic toxicology, environmental toxicology, etc.

Students choosing this subject should have good analytical and logical thinking skills. Good hand-eye coordination is also very important during the analysis of toxins. After completion of this degree students can opt for higher studies by choosing Ph.D they can work in research laboratories, hospitals, government organizations.
