Ques. How is the M.Tech in welding technology at NIT Trichy in terms of placements?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 15 Sept 21

Ans. Welding technology has the distinct advantage of having some organizations who come to NIT Trichy solely to hire welding masters. In core welding firms, more than 50% placement is guaranteed. During the placement process, many software and mechanical firms visit the campus.  According to the recent placement highlights, the placement average for Welding Technology was around 60%. The placement average is less this year due to the ongoing pandemic.  The average CTC offered in the placement is 7-9 LPA.  The major recruiting companies that visit the campus are Tata Steel, Caterpillar, Lincoln, etc. NDT companies also recruit from Welding. If you have the required skills you can also sit for software and data science roles.  Almost 60% of the branch get placed in Mechanical core while the remaining 40% get placed in sectors like software, marketing, etc. If you have good CGPA and decent communication skills then getting into core sectors from Welding Engineering at NIT Trichy will not be that difficult.Read more

Ques. What are the benefits of M.tech (ME) from IIT Madras?

● Top Answer By Shivani Tiwari on 30 Jul 21

Ans. IIT Madras is one of the best institutes for engineering in India, providing excellent infrastructure, facilities, and top-notch placement in almost all streams. The points below state some of the most important benefits that you will receive in M.Tech at IIT Madras. In Mechanical Engineering, there are not many jobs available for engineering graduates in India. So, rather than being unemployed and failing in competitive exams repetitively, it is always better to go for higher studies, especially in institutes IITs. M.Tech students in IITs are given a stipend of 12,400 per month. This is given without any involvement in some sort of work or research too. So, earning while studying out of no extra effort is a great deal, which is never possible being in company. The IITian tag has its own value, which students run after even during their undergraduate days. Getting into the same institute which a student has tried 4 years before and failed is an achievement. Being in an IIT, society gives a lot of respect and treats its fellows as true engineers of society. Most M.Tech students get the chance of working in core companies, which are very rare for B.Tech graduates. These are the real white-collar jobs, which students dream of. The campus life of IIT Madras has a lot to offer to its students, making memories for the two years of M.Tech. Therefore, there are thousands of benefits in studying M.Tech in any stream at IIT Madras, some of them being listed above.Read more

Ques. How was your experience of doing an MS in the mechanical engineering department at IIT Madras?

● Top Answer By Keshav Jindal on 26 Jul 21

Ans. IIT Madras is a tremendous college. The ambiance, the seniors, the faculty all are outstanding and cooperative. Being a part of IIT Madras, I can say that the institution provides for a competitive learning field for engineering and career options. MS is a research-oriented program that provides for its students to enhance their research skills. It requires the students to take an active participation in research studies at IIT Madras. Candidates are selected based on their GATE score, UG CGPA and Interview performance, similar to M.Tech candidates’ selection. The candidates are provided with the opportunity for Half-time Teaching/Research Assistantship of 12,400 per month upto 3 years. An MS student has a beneficial edge as the students get to work directly with the professor in their chosen field of research. Exposure: Research Scholars day: It is an opportunity for the research scholars to go beyond their limitations of their laboratories and witness research and gain first-hand experience. Shaastra:is an annual technical festival of IIT Madras. The festival lasts for four days and four knights during the beginning week of January. It attracts participation from the diverse parts of India. Shaastra provides for the students a platform to showcase their scientific and engineering talents. A Global Outreach: a number of opportunities are offered to the students to travel abroad and attend international conferences. MS candidates have been placed in vast numbers with great offers. You will get to learn a lot and build yourself up for your career ahead. You will get industrial exposure, seminars and internships also. Conducted by big companies like Cognizant, PwC, etc. You would not regret having gone for it, as the college life here is fun and quite happening.Read more

Ques. Should I choose a mechanical degree from the BITS Pilani, Pilani Campus or a CS degree from the BITS Pilani Goa Campus?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 19 Jul 21

Ans. Prior to mentioning anything, it depends upon what your preference is. However, if you relatively require a faster or simply an immediate placement following the course, then opting for BITS Pilani, Goa (CSE) can be a superior choice. The CS branch is comparably one of the most demanded courses and is on a severe hike in India. It moreover has granted students the opportunity to obtain the highest entry-level package over and across India. Given the factors, the Goa campus of BITS Pilani can provide you with all the necessities. In fact, one of my friends is a recent graduate from the institute and frankly shares no amount of regret following his admission. The Goa campus of BITS Pilani has recorded high selections for GSoC. Categories Mechanical at BITS Pilani, Pilani Campus CS at BITS Pilani Goa Campus Course Fee 19.19 lakh 19.19 lakh Highest CTC 21 LPA 29 LPA Average CTC 11 LPA 12-15 LPA Recruiting Companies Bosch, Mercedes, nVidia, Goldman Sachs, etc. Infosys, Cognizant, Accenture, IBM, etc. He preferred pursuing CSE at BITS Pilani, Goa over EEE at BITS Pilani, main campus. Now comparing your choices, you should undeniably plan to enlist at the Goa campus.Read more

Campus Life :

College have many courses and the average gender ratio is about 70:30. Students does parties in college canteen and outside the college too. There is no discrimination or intolerance to any gender, race, religion, caste and economic status. Students enjoy with thier freinds and college mates.

Admission :

I opted this course for doing research. This is the best college of Engineering of AKTU that's why I have chosen this college. On the basis of written test and Interview I have got admission in this college. I got admission in the Mechanical Engineering Department on 5th January 2016.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

I have taken admission in the college in 2016, then fee structure for my course was feasible. But from 2018 the fee structure became very expensive for the course. No additional fees have taken for the course. Old fee structure for the course was not transparent in the fee breakdown.

Course Curriculum Overview :

We had 2 semester exams and last year complete research work. We have to complete atleast 16 grade in one sem. You can opt upto 26 grades.I have given most of the papers open book open notes. And during research work you have to work hard. Even I haven't slept for 3 days while writing my final draft of dissertation. And in case any semester you gone below 6.5 GPA you will be terminated from college and course.

Admission :

Just passed entrance exam got admission on july.exact date I dont remember.and I opt mechanical engineering because everyone said evergreen branch hai and all.but I guess it's not like that.whatever you opt you have work hard to get something. And I have cleared gate exam with good score got admission in iit kanpur

Placement Experience :

It is bitter truth that in India employment is at worse scale and graduated needs to struggle for placement similarly at my college placement rate was average. Some got placement but at low salaries and I was also in those.I selected by manveer agro industry as a supervisor and stipend was 7000 pm.

Admission :

Firstly I Selected from GATE merit list then still I was in doubt about admission because there were other qualified students but finally I found my name in final list. That time it was very difficult to get admission at such well reputed institution.

Alumni/Alumna :

Getting interactions with senior in a college is one of the difficult phase in my life because I was unknown at this college to my senior but when classes begun Some senior helped me in purchasing books, filling forms. They all were amiable.
