Eligibility for M.Tech. in Transportation Engineering

The basic minimum eligibility for the pursuance of the course is a Bachelor’s degree (B.E./ B.Tech. in Civil Engineering or Urban Planning) or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university with a minimum aggregate score of 50% (45% in case of SC/ST).

Transportation engineering is an offshoot of civil engineering. Transportation Engineers are responsible for planning, designing and constructing roadways, ports and railways, and for performing inspections and maintenance to keep such routes safe for travel.

Ans. IIT Delhi and IIT Madras offer a Post-Graduation in Construction Technology and Management. To secure a seat at either of the institutes, you must obtain a good rank in the GATE examination. IIT Delhi gives more weightage to the technical aspects of the course, while NICMAR focuses more on the managerial aspects of Construction. The curriculum of the course is unmatched, yet the placements, at times, can be quite unanticipated.  Both the courses are quite equivalent to each other on various stages whatsoever. But, when the decision boils down to which among the both is better, then IIT Delhi might win the race. Now, the Transportation Engineering department from IITs is indeed a great course. The average package some of my seniors from this course secured was about INR 5 LPA. Ques. How is the M.Tech structural engineering placement at NIT Trichy?

Ans. One of my friends graduated from NIT Trichy. According to him, the placements for the M.Tech in structural engineering is pretty good in NIT Trichy. There is a separate Training and Placement department to look after the placement activities. Generally, training starts in the second semester. Every year, approximately 80% of the students get job opportunities in reputed companies.  They are offered an average salary package of INR 6 lakh per annum. The M.Tech is definitely better as compared to other branches like civil engineering at NIT Trichy. According to recent data, about 87.1% of students from M. Tech were placed in the placement drive of 2020. Ans. The M.Tech program of Environmental Geotechnology at NIT Calicut is an interdisciplinary branch. In the first semester, you will be taught about Geotechnological Engineering and in the second semester, you will learn about subjects that are in Environmental Engineering such as Groundwater Hydrology. All in all, this course is more towards the Geotechnical side than the Environmental side. You also have to undertake projects. Usually, most people opt for Geotechnical projects. Talking about the prospects of the future, L&T has been the only recruiters for some years now they recruited very few students pursuing postgraduate.  If you want to teach this course in the future, then pursuing it will be a good idea. It is definitely a good course but not the best. Join if you are interested in the course and not for the NIT tag. Read more

Ans. Having to know some people studying in both these colleges, I can say that they are equally good. You can opt for any one of them, their respective programs are also good. They are recognized as Centres of Excellence by MHRD, Govt of India. The choice mainly depends on the individual and their preferences. You should go for the one you are enthusiastic about. NITIE offers 3 courses, where the selection is through GATE scores. These include Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Engineering, Project Management, and Manufacturing Management. These courses are a mixture of technical and business management. IITs offer M.Tech through GATE exam scores.  It involves core specialization and nothing about industrial management. So, the selection of the college and the course entirely depends on you. Go through them and then decide which will be a better option for your career.Read more

Faculty of college is really good. Their knowledge about the subject they are teaching is up to the mark. They teach each and every topic in very interesting manner, which helps in creating interest in studies. They conducts an interactive session which helps in understanding the topic very easily.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

It is a two years cause and fee for each year is Rs One Lakhs Twenty Five Thousand (Rs 125000). And we can pay it in two installments. Stationary is included in the College fees, whatever the yearly stationary is required is provided by the college in the above fees. Fees are really feasible.
