CMAT Result 2022 is declared in the form of a scorecard containing the overall & sectional scores and the rank. Surprisingly, this year’s CMAT scorecard does not contain the percentile score of the candidate. CMAT 2022 Merit List is also expected to be released by NTA and will likely include the names of the candidates along with their AIR and percentile.

How is CMAT Score Calculated?
CMAT Score is calculated based on the correct and incorrect responses made by the candidate in CMAT exam by following the marking scheme given below:
- The correct response will be awarded +4
- The incorrect response will face a penalty of -1
- For unattempted questions, there is no negative marking
How to Calculate CMAT Percentile?
The candidates who appear for CMAT exam will be able to calculate their percentile by using the values of their individual rank and the total number of candidates who appeared. CMAT Percentile is calculated using the formula:
Percentile P = ( (N- your rank)/ N) x 100 (Where P is percentile and N is the total number of candidates who appeared for the exam).

CMAT 2022 Merit List
The authorities will soon release CMAT 2022 Merit List in PDF format. Last year, NTA did not release CMAT Merilt List, however, this year it is expected as percentile scores are not mentioned in CMAT 2022 scorecards. CMAT Merit List will contain the candidate’s name, percentile score, and the AIR.
CMAT Tie-Breaking Criteria 2022
In case multiple candidates score the same in CMAT 2022, the ranking will be done on the basis of CMAT sectional score considered in the below mentioned order:
- Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation
- Logical Reasoning
- Language Comprehension
- General Awareness
- Innovation and Entrepreneurship
If the tie still persists, candidates secure the same ranking by going through the above process, the same rank is assigned to all of them but is displayed by sorting their names alphabetically. The rank in CMAT of the next candidate is then extended by the number of students having the same rank. For example, if 3 students are at 6th rank then subsequent students will be ranked as 9th.
CMAT 2022 Answer Key
NTA releases CMAT Answer Key along with the candidates’ response sheet on the official website within a week of the conclusion of the exam. Candidates can challenge the answer keys and recorded responses by filling out an online application form and paying a processing charge of INR 1000/ question till the last day of raising objections.
- The processing charge can be paid by credit card/debit card/Net banking. The processing fee once paid, is non-refundable.
- NTA’s decision on the challenges shall be final and no further communication will be entertained.
- Based on the challenges raised, NTA releases the final answer key based on which CMAT result is declared.

CMAT 2022 Counselling Procedure
Post declaration of CMAT Result 2022, candidates are called for the further rounds of counselling; GD/Essay and PI. Every institute has a different selection process.
- For the final selection, qualified candidates are required to visit the respective institutes for which they have applied for.
- Multiple rounds of selection are conducted at the campus of the concerned institute.
- About 1000 AICTE Approved institutes will accept CMAT 2022 Result scores.
