DNB CET 2021 Exam Pattern

DNB CET 2021 for January Session will be scheduled from December 2021. The exam pattern declared by NBE for DNB CET 2021. It is essential for the appearing students to have complete information about DNB CET 2021 Exam Pattern so that they prepare accordingly. 

The exam comprises 300 multiple choice questions in English language only. The candidates have to answer a total of 300 MCQs in 210 minutes. Duration will be 3 hours and 45 minutes and shall be held in 2 sessions Forenoon and Afternoon. Candidates have to reach the DNB CET Exam Center before the stipulated time. There is a 15-minute tutorial to teach candidates how to attempt the DNB CET exam and mark responses.

DNB CET 2021 (Diplomate of National Board Centralized Entrance Test) is a national level qualifying-cum-ranking examination that is conducted bi-annually for admissions to various postgraduate courses. These courses also include a Direct 6 year course in the specialty of Plastic Surgery, Neuro Surgery, Cardio-thoracic Surgery and Pediatric Surgery.

The basic DNB CET 2021 Exam Pattern is mentioned below:

  • It is an objective test and will consist of a total of 300 MCQ or Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Each question will have four responses out of which only one will be correct.
  • The questions will be available in English only.
  • There is no negative marking for wrong answers. Hence, attempting all questions in the test is advised.
  • The duration of the exam will be three and a half hours. A 15-minute tutorial will be shown at the start of the examination for guiding the students through the question paper.

The candidates will be able to navigate the paper in any order they wish to. Hence, the candidates can select the questions according to their preference and can solve those questions they want to solve first and then get to the difficult ones later.

Ques. Is there a new testing format for DNB CET 2021?

Ans. Yes, formerly this test was pen and paper based; now it is a Computer-Based test. However, the test is not an Internet-based test. No internet is needed for conducting the test. Instead of reading the questions on a paper, now the candidates will have to read it on a screen and mark their responses there too.

Ques. What does a computer-based test look like?

Ans. No, a candidate will have to test on a pre-assigned test station at an allocated testing venue, chosen during the DNB CET 2021 registration process.
