Time Management

DU JAT Exam consists of 4 sections, so candidates should prepare accordingly and take care that each section is given proper time while preparing for the exam. Time must be managed to give a good shot to the exam. Candidates can go through following points for time management:-

  • Candidates should study 3-4 hours regularly to try to get selected into the exam.
  • Candidates should divide their time among the four sections.
  • Candidates should read newspapers like THE HINDU or THE INDIAN EXPRESS daily for at least 1 hour.
  • Candidates should practice English comprehensions and error corrections for at least 1 hour.
  • LR and QA should be prepared for 1 hour with a variety of questions. Students must be thorough with the DU JAT Exam pattern for scoring good marks.
  • Candidates should give extra time to those sections which they find difficult while writing answer nut first, they should complete those sections in which they are good at.
  • Time for a mock test should be spared everyday.

  • Quantitative Ability

This section contains questions from 11th and 12th Mathematics syllabus and some questions from 10th grade. Candidates should solve as many mock tests as they can. R.D Sharma would be of much help to the candidates as some questions are directly picked from it. 

  • Reasoning and Analytical Ability

This section tests the reasoning and analytical ability of the candidate. This section contains questions related to bar graphs and charts etc. Any data interpretation book could be helpful for this section.

  • Verbal Ability

This section tests the vocabulary of the candidate. Read the newspaper diligently and write difficult words in your copy while preparation. Candidates can solve previous years’ papers of DU JAT and identify and learn important words from there. Candidates should learn the roots of the words that may be the best way to determine the meaning of hundreds of words.

  • Business and General Awareness

Candidates are suggested to read the newspaper daily to score good marks in this section. Questions related to products and their companies are asked. Important international days are also asked. Candidates are also advised to remember national prize winners of current and previous years.

Revision plays the most important part in the preparation of an exam. Candidates can go through following points for the revision:-

  • Prepare notes of the important formulas and concepts of Mathematics. Revise them a day prior to the entrance exam.

  • Candidates should at least practice 10-12 previous years’ papers or mock tests before taking the entrance exam.

IMPORTANT TOPICS
QUANTITATIVE ABILITY:- There are some important topics likely to be asked which are inferential and visual reasoning, set of questions from DI covering topics of pie charts, graphs, time and work, quadrilaterals, numbers, average, profit and loss, mathematical series, etc.
LOGICAL REASONING:- Logical reasoning contains topics like verbal reasoning and verbal analogy, letter series, number series, syllogism, etc.
ENGLISH:- English contains important topics like comprehension at paragraph and sentence levels, identification of common errors, grammar, and usage, vocabulary, etc.
