GATE Application Form Correction 2023 has started on Nov 8. Candidates can now make rectifications of defects to their submitted GATE 2023 Application Form till November 14 through the login tab at gate.iitk.ac.in. Candidates can make modifications to their name, DOB, gender, category, address, paper and exam city, etc. as a one-time-only option. Each modification done is charged with an additional fee of INR 500 through GATE Login (GOAPS).
- Similarly, additional charges of INR 750 are to be paid to change Gender (from Female to other) or Category such as from SC/ST to other or PWD to Non-PWD category.
- It is to be remembered that if a candidate is unable to rectify the errors in his/her application communicated by GATE 2023 authorities, within the stipulated time frame their form would be rejected.
- In case a candidate’s application status is “Under Scrutiny”, candidates are advised to keep a check on their GOAPS portal for further updates.

GATE 2023 Application Scrutiny and Rectification
- The application forms submitted for GATE 2023 will be checked by the authorities to verify the accuracy of the data.
- The authorities will check the uploaded documents, check the clarity of the photograph and signature.
- If every document and details provided by the candidates are found to be in order then the application will be accepted.
- In case any defect is found in the application form then the same will be marked and intimated to the respective candidate for correction via e-mail and/or SMS, which the candidate has provided while filling the application form.
- The correction needs to be done within the time period provided by the authorities. Failing to do so on time can lead to the rejection of the application
- The status of the candidate’s application can be checked anytime by logging into GOAPS.
GATE Application Form Correction 2023
After submitting the application form, it goes under scrutiny where the form is checked as per the specifications mentioned in GATE Information Brochure. In case, any mistake/ defect is found, the same is informed to the candidates through their registered email IDs for the rectification. Additional fee payment, if applicable, will have to be paid by the candidates.
GATE Application Form Correction 2023: Details that CAN be Corrected
- Communication Address, Graduation Details, Date of Birth, Gender and Category CAN be corrected.
- Photograph and signature- One needs to upload clear and acceptable images if they have not uploaded the images of high quality.
- The rectification of selection of the wrong status of qualifying examination along with its correct document can also be submitted.

As only certain details can be edited in GATE Application Form and if the mistakes cannot be rectified then you have to apply again for GATE 2022 with a new E-mail ID and Phone Number. It must be noted that the previous application fee shall not be refunded.
GATE Application Form Correction 2023: Change in Exam Center
- IIT Kharagpur will also provide the facility to candidates who are interested in changing their GATE 2023 exam center. An additional fee will be applicable for changing the exam city, which will be informed later.
- Candidates can do limited corrections in the application form. Therefore, they are advised to fill GATE Application Form carefully.
- After the corrections, a candidate can check the GATE form status for successful submission.

How to Make Corrections in GATE 2023 Application Form?
Once students get details on the corrections required they can follow the following steps to make the required modifications online:
- Step 1: Log in at the GOAPS website
- Step 2: Enter Enrollment ID/Email Address, Password, and Captcha.
- Step 3: Click on Edit GATE Application Form and make the changes.
- Step 4: After rectifying the required information, verify it before saving the application form and subsequently Save and View the Application.
- Step 5: Submit the form and Proceed to Payment after verifying all the changes.
- Step 7: Download GATE corrected application form for future reference.

Ques. Can I log in from a different mail ID to make corrections through GATE Application Form Correction 2023 portal? Can I use the same mobile number to correct the application form?
Ans. No, you cannot use a different mail ID for GATE Application Form Correction 2023. You will have to log in by using the same credential that you have entered during the registration process.
Ques. I belong to the PWD category. By mistake, I have entered the incorrect category in my application form. Now I want to change it. Do I need to pay any additional fees to change my category in GATE Application Form Correction 2023 portal?
