JEE Main 2023 Cut off opening and closing ranks are the admission cut offs released by the JoSAA (the counselling authority) after every round of counselling. They represent the first and last rank at which admission is granted at an institute. As per last year’s JEE Main cut off opening and closing ranks, a rank below 5000 is good to get B.E/ B.Tech admission to top NITs including NIT Trichy and NIT Rourkela.

For admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs, a minimum of 75% marks in class 12 (65% for SC/ ST) are mandatory.
JEE Main 2023 counselling is expected to begin in the first week of June 2023 for all candidates with a valid JEE 2023 score.

Factors Affecting JEE Main Cut off

JEE Main Cut off 2023- Factors Affecting Qualifying and Admission Cut off

There are a number of factors that affect JEE Main Cut off. Earlier (2013-2016), marks obtained in Class 12th board exams also affected JEE Main Cut off. A 40% weightage was given to Class 12th board exams in deciding JEE Main rank.

There are many institutes of state-level degrees and private colleges that offer standard education even if not till the level of IITs and NITs. You can go ahead with your engineering degree from any of these institutes rather than wasting one complete year.

Ques. What is the admission process and cutoff for students from Bhutan, Nepal or Bangladesh? Is there any specific quota or reservation for them?

Ans. There is no specific quota or reservation system for candidates from countries like Bangladesh, Nepal or Bhutan. These students fall under the foreign category and should only fill up the application form for JEE Main 2023 accordingly.

Ques. My parents were of Indian origin and now all of us are passport holders of foreign countries, but I have studied from class 2 in India. Will I be eligible to apply for JEE Main 2023? Which category will I fall under?

Ans. In case that your parents with-hold certificates of Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), only then will you be eligible to contest in the JEE Main Exam. In other scenarios, you will have to apply as a candidate under foreign category.

Ques. Is JEE Main Cut off 2023 same for all the categories?

Ans. No the cut off is not the same for all the categories. NTA releases the maximum and minimum scores required for each category separately. Additionally JoSAA also releases JEE Main Admission Cut off for B.Tech admission to NITs and IIITs separately for different categories.

Prepare in such a way that you are appearing for JEE Advanced. This is because the course and structure of Advanced are such that once you are ready to clear that, you can clear every other exam too. This means your focus will not be divided and all you can do is focus on one exam. Keep focusing on the preparation for JEE Advanced and when your BITSAT is around the corner start solving mock tests to improve your speed. Prepare additionally for English and Logical Reasoning questions. BITSAT focuses more on your speed than the clarity of your concepts. So a mere preparation of 3 months before BITSAT is more than enough provided that your concepts are clear from JEE Advanced preparation.
