How to Apply?

How to fill JIPMER PG 2023 Application Form?

JIPMER PG 2023 Application Form can be filled in online mode only at the official website – jipmer.edu.in for MSc/MPH/PBD/PGD/PGF courses​. 

Step 1: Online Registration

  • Visit JIPMER PG official website – jipmer.edu.in
  • Click on the link “JIPMER MD/ MS”  
  • Then, click on “Apply online” link. The following Registration window will be displayed.
  • Enter your name, date of birth, mobile number and email ID and captcha.
  • Your login credentials –  registration number and password will be sent to your mobile and email ID.

Step 2: Upload Photograph and Signature

  • Candidates have to upload scanned images of their photograph and signature in prescribed specifications.
  • Candidate should upload a recent color passport size photograph holding a placard stating your name and date of taking the photo which should be greater than July 1, 2020 as shown in the below example.
  • Candidates also have to upload an image of their signature done in running handwriting on a white paper with a black pen.

Step 3: Fill JIPMER PG Application Form

  • Candidates need to enter their personal, communication and educational details.
  • Indicate your category, preferred subject and exam center and other details.
  • Fill the form very carefully as no option for correction is available and click on save and next/ submit button.

Step 4: Pay JIPMER PG Application Fee

  • The final step in the application process is payment of fees.
  • The fees can be paid in online mode only via debit card/ credit card and Internet banking.
  • No other mode of fee payment is acceptable.

Exam Day Guidelines

Exam day guidelines for JIPMER PG 2023

  • Candidates will be required to report at the exam venue by 08.30 am. No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall past 9.15 am.
  • No candidate will be allowed to leave the examination hall before 11:30 am for MDS course and before 01:00 pm for MD/MS course.
  • Candidates will be advised to report to the allotted exam centers at least 2 hours prior to the commencement of the examination.
  • Candidates will be required to carry the JIPMER PG admit card along with a valid Id proof (original) and photocopy of the same ID proof inside the hall. No candidate will be allowed to take the examination without the admit card or Id proof.
  • A candidate will be required to get the signature and seal of the center representative/invigilator on his/her admit card.
  • Candidates will be subjected to frisking and other security procedures before entering the examination hall. This will be followed by a biometric fingerprint and image capture.
  • Food, drinks, water bottle, etc. are not allowed in the examination hall.

Ques.  I have chosen the science stream for my CHSE exam and am pursing my 10 + 2 in the same. Am I eligible to apply for JIPMER 2023? 

Ans. Yes, you can fill in the JIPMER 2023 Application Form. To qualify for admission, you must obtain the marks that are neccessary. Until  you can attain the marks that are required, your admission is provisional. 

Ques. How can one check their Application Status for JIPMER 2023? 

Ans. There is no system that is presently set up for such a convenience. Once the candidates have submitted their application fee, they will attain a message that says that the transactions are completed, which means that the application is submitted successfully. 

Ques. I have added a detail in the form that is incorrect by mistake. What should I do now? 

Ans. Since there is no form correction facility available, you need to submit a new form. 

Ques. Can a candidate apply with a village officer OBC (NCL) certificate? 

Ans. If it is government-approved, then yes you can apply with that certificate. 

Ques. I cannot login and do the payment. What should I do? 

Ans. You can try after some time as the server may be down. 

Ques. What is the duration of the MD / MS course? 

Ans. Duration of the MD / MS course is Three (3) years i.e. 36 months from the date of admission. 

Ques. What are the institutions allowed for Sponsored candidates? 

Ans. Sponsorship / Deputation of candidates will be accepted only from the following: 

  • ​Central of State Government Departments / Institutions 
  • Autonomous Bodies of the Central or State Government 
  • Public Sector Colleges Affiliated to Universities and recognized by Medical Council of India, deputation / sponsorship certificate signed by the Principal of Medical College concerned only shall be accepted. 

Ques. How can I apply if I am a foreign national and I have a MBBS degree? 

Ans. Foreign Nationals candidates are required to route their application through the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Goverment of India, New Delhi. All Foreign Nationals should register their MBBS Degree in the Medical Council of their respective countries and will have to take prior permission from the Medical Council of India (MCI) of their respective countries and will have to take prior permission from the Medical Council of India before applying for postgraduate courses in the Institution. 

However, applications of such candidates will be processed after receipt of the same through diplomatic channels. These candidates are also required to appear in the entrance examination along with other candidates. Preferance will be given to the candidates from SAARC countries (Bhutan, Bangaldesh, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka). Selection of candidates will be made on merit based, on their performance in the entrance examination. In the event of selection, the candidates have to apply for temporary registration with the Medical Council of India for the duration of postgraduate study. 

Ques. Are there any additional requirements for admission of foreign nationals? 

Ans. Foreign Nationals should also keep these guidelines in mind:

Ques. What is the UR (Unreserved) category in JIPMER PG 2023? 

Ans. Unreserved stands for all applicants including OCI (Overseas Citizen of India). 

Ques. What does Institute (INST) stand for? 

Ans. Institute stands for an applicant who has studied and obtained his / her MBBS Degree from JIPMER. The word institute is not applicable to any other Medical Institution for the purpose of benefit against statuory reservations.  

Ques. What category does an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) fall under? 

Ans. The candidate should upload his/her OCI card at the time of filling the online application and the same should be submitted at the time of counselling. The OCI candidates will be considered only in Unreserved Category quota. Hence, the name will be included in the Overall Merit List. 

  • Foreign Nationals are required to send their registration slip of online application through diplomatic channel. They are also required to appear in the Competitive Entrance Examination along with other candidates. An “advance copy” to be submitted at JIPMER before the last date of online registration. However, the application of all such candidates will be processed only after the receipt of the same through Diplomatic Channel. 
  • Foreign nationals will be considered against the seats advertised under the “Foreign National” category only for MD / MS courses. They should be registered with MCI before they will be allowed to join the said course, if they are selected for the same through entrance examination. 
  • Nominations / No objection for the candidate should reach of the Office of the Dean (Academic), JIPMER, Puducherry – 605 006 before the date of issue of the Hall ticket as specified under “IMPORTANT DATES”. In case of non-receipt of the nominations / clearance / no objection from the concerned Ministry by due date, their candidature will not be considered. 
  • No emoluments will be paid by JIPMER to the Foreign Nationals candidates.
