JIPMER 2023 Exam Pattern, Marking Scheme, and Syllabus

JIPMER 2023 Exam Pattern will be released by JPIMER or Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research. The candidate who wants to get a high score in the exam should be well versed with the JIPMER 2023 Exam pattern.

JIPMER exam is conducted online. The exam paper for JIPMER will consist of 200 MCQ or Multiple-Choice Questions in total. Each question will carry a minimum of four responses. There will be negative marking for each incorrect answer. The duration of JIPMER 2023 examination will be 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Marking Scheme

Marking scheme for JIPMER 2023

It is also one of the most important parts for JIPMER 2023 Exam Pattern. Some of the important points are given below.

  • There will be one marks given for each positive answer and one marks will be deducted for each negative answer. 
  • There will not be given any marks for any type of unattempt questions and also there won’t be any deduction for these questions. 
  • Percentile score will be calculated based on the raw score. 
  • The percentile score will be given for deciding the eligibility criteria that uses Cut-off score and preparing for merit rank.
  • For the MBBS entrance, minimum eligibility marks will be 50% in aggregate for general category and 40% in aggregate for a reserved category like SC/ST candidates.

JIPMER 2023 Exam Pattern will contain a total number of 1000 marks for the syllabus of postgraduation course. There will be 4 marks for each correct answer and deduction for 1 mark for each incorrect answer. Subject wise mark distribution is tabulated below.

JIPMER Syllabus 2023

The questions for JIPMER are based on the syllabus as prescribed by State Board Hr. Sec. and CBSE for XI & XII Standards. That is, It will cover topics from Physics, Chemistry, Biology studied in class 11 and class 12. The conducting body will not add anything to this syllabus. Important Instructions for Candidates

The details mentioned below are important and must be noted before appearing for the JIPMER 2020 exam:

  • On the day of the exam, candidates must follow all the rules and regulations of the exam.
  • Candidates are expected to maintain decorum for smooth organisation of examination.
  • The exam will be conducted in two sessions- Morning Session & Afternoon Session. Candidates must be careful while noting exam timings, venue, and session.
  • Candidates must report to the examination hall at least 2 hours prior to the commencement of the exam.
  • Candidates must carry a printout of the admit card and a valid photo identity proof at all times during the exam.

Qualifying marks for JIPMER 2023

JIPMER MBBS entrance examination test is comparably easier than NEET. You need to focus on Biology while preparing for the examination. For this section, often questions come out of NCERT. Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research conducts JIPMER MBBS. NEET is a common test for all medical aspirants trying to secure admission to govt medical colleges. Earlier AIIMS was conducted for AIIMS MBBS. But it has been scrapped and AIIMS takes admission based on NEET scores.  The examination pattern of JIPMER is different than NEET.
