Tie-Breaking Rule

What is the Tie-Breaking Rule in JIPMER 2023 Result?

JIPMER 2023 Merit list will be prepared by the JIPMER after the tie-breaking rules. Candidate’s rank will be displayed on the merit list after publishing JIPMER 2023 Result by following the tie-breaking rule. Let’s see some conditions and methods when and how these rules are applied.

Score Normalization

Normalization of JIPMER Scores

It is a procedure to ensure that students are neither advantaged nor disadvantaged by the difficulty of questions for examination is organized in two Shifts. The percentile score for each candidate (shift wise) will be calculated as given here:

Percentile Score Calculation – 

In shift wise, the percentile score of each candidate will reflect what percentage of candidates have secured below that candidate in the examination in shift wise.

The formula to calculate percentile score of a candidate as follows:

100 X (No. of Candidates in the group with aggregate mark less than a candidate)

Note: The percentile score (up to 7 decimal places) will be counted separately for each of five subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English Language and Comprehension & Logical & Quantitative Reasoning) & total.

Preparation of Overall Rank/Merit List – 

For both shifts, the percentile scores for total marks as given above will be merged & arranged so as to derive an Overall Merit List/Ranking.

 
Counselling Procedure

JIPMER 2023 Counselling Procedure

The counselling will be comprised of the following procedure:

  • Online Registration: At the counselling venue, registration of candidates will be done. Candidates have to register for counselling by showing their call letter to the university. The registration will be done by entering their personal & other required details.
  • Biometric Finger Print Verification: After registration, candidates will have to go for a biometric fingerprint verification process. This process will be done to ensure that candidate, those appear for the counselling will be the same as the one who wrote the examination.
  • Image/Photo Verification: This process will also be done to confirm that candidates will be the same. If there will be mismatched, candidates will not be allowed to attend the counselling.
  • Certificate Verification: In this procedure, the candidate’s documents will be verified by the University. It will be done to check the eligibility of the candidates.
  • Counselling: Candidates who successfully complete all the verification rounds will be called for seat allotment. Candidates will be called as per their rank. Candidates will have an option to choose a seat in JIPMER, Puducherry & JIPMER, Karaikal.

Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research conducts JIPMER MBBS. NEET is a common test for all medical aspirants trying to secure admission to govt medical colleges. Earlier AIIMS was conducted for AIIMS MBBS. But it has been scrapped and AIIMS takes admission based on NEET scores.  The examination pattern of JIPMER is different than NEET.
