JPMER Syllabus 2023: The questions for JIPMER are based on the syllabus as prescribed by State Board Hr. Sec. and CBSE for XI & XII Standards. This year, the MBBS exam was scheduled for June 2 in two shifts – morning and evening.
The duration of the medical exam is 2½ hours. Highlights of the paper pattern are given below:
- Mode of Exam: Online i.e. computer-based mode
- Medium of Exam: English only
- Type of Questions: Objective (MCQs)
- Marking Scheme: +4 (correct answer) and -1 (incorrect answer)

JIPMER Logical and Quantitative Aptitude Syllabus
This section is devised to evaluate a candidate’s ability to analytically comprehend different aspects of a situation or scenario and logically derive solutions. A total of 10 questions are asked in this paper. No visual questions are asked in the section. It covers a variety of logical aptitude questions including syllogism, logical sequences, analogies, etc.

JIPMER English and Comprehension Syllabus
This section tests a candidate’s proficiency in English. There are 10 questions in this section. The section usually has three major components viz.
- Vocabulary – it will majorly cover synonyms, antonyms, and analogies.
- Grammar – you will have to correct the grammatical errors in questions, fill in the blanks with appropriate words etc.
- Comprehension – will test the understanding of a passage including its central theme and word meanings.
