Karnataka PGCET Exam Pattern 2022 has been released at the official website - kea.kar.nic.in along with the official notification. Karnataka PGCET exam pattern is going to help the candidates for a better understanding of the exam. According to the exam pattern, there will be MCQs with 100 marks on each paper. A total of 150 minutes will be allotted for M.E/M.Tech/M.Arch and MCA question papers whereas the MBA question paper is going to have 120 minutes only.

What is Type A and Type B in PGCET?

Type A is the courses offered by VTU, UVCE and UBDTCE Universities. Whereas, Type B are the courses offered by the Department of PG studies and research in Mathematics and Computer Science, Kuvempu University and Department of Studies in Computer Science, Mysore University.

  • Candidates appearing for these courses must select the course code that they have opted for in PGCET as per the Course codes are given below:

  • Make note, it is the responsibility of the candidate to select the correct course code. KEA will not take the responsibility of changing the course code at a later date.

Further, for Type-A course Mechanical Science (Course code 06) includes the following branches. Students must select the course code as Mechanical Sciences.

There is only one course under this section. And the code and name is ‘11 – Mathematics and Computer Science’.

Instructions to Fill Karnataka PGCET 2022 OMR Sheet

Candidates should adhere to some important instructions while filling Karnataka PGCET 2022 OMR Sheet to avoid any discrepancy

  • Candidates should use blue or black ballpoint pen only to avoid spillage while marking their answers on the OMR sheet.
  • Fill the circles completely to mark your responses as instructed on the OMR Sheet. 
  • Rough work or any stray marks on the OMR Sheet are strictly prohibited. The response is liable to be rejected in case of any smudges or stray marks.
  • Use the separate space at the back of the question paper for rough calculations, etc.
  • After completing their entrance test, candidates have to affix their left-hand thumb mark in the space provided. This has to be done before submitting the answer sheet
  • Once the exam is complete, candidates can carry the replica of the answer sheet with them. Later when the answer key is announced, candidates can cross-check the accuracy of their answers.
