KLEE 2022 Application Form (Out): Steps to Apply, Fees, Eligibility

KLEE 2022 Application Form Correction facility has been opened by The Commisioner for Entrance Examination, Kerala till September 14, 2022. Candidates can access their application forms for KLEE 2022 on the official website- ceekerala.gov.in.  KLEE 2022 for three-year LLB will be conducted on September 25, 2022 in computer based mode. 

  • Candidates belonging to General as well as SEBC (socially and educationally backward classes) will have to pay the application fee of INR 600, while candidates from SC or ST category will have to pay INR 300.
  • KLEE 2022 Registration must be done by candidates through online mode only, no offline applications will be accepted.
  • Allotment of merit seats in Private Self-Financing law colleges are subjected to Kerala Government’s approval and also the renewal of University affiliation for the 2022-23 academic year, along with official approval of the Institution by the Bar Council of India.
  • KLEE is conducted by the Office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examination for admission to  Integrated Five Year LL.B Course in the four Government Law Colleges of Kerala and in the Private Self-financing Law Colleges of Kerala which have entered into a seat-sharing agreement with the State Government.

KLEE 2022 Eligibility Criteria

The three eligibility parameters for appearing in KLEE 2022 have been issued by CEE:

1. Nativity: Only candidates with valid proof of Indian citizenship can appear for KLEE 2022

2. Academic:

  1. Candidates should have cleared the Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education of Kerala or any equivalent examination recognized by Universities in Kerala
  2. Candidates who have cleared 10+2 level from any school recognized by central or state government’s educational authority or equivalent educational qualifications as deemed by Bar Council of India
  3. Candidates possessing a Higher Secondary pass certificate or first-degree certificate from distance learning or correspondence
  4. However, CEE does not allow such candidates to appear for exams who have cleared 10+2, graduation or post-graduation directly through open universities, with no fundamental qualification to prosecute such studies
  5. Candidates who are either appearing or have already appeared (result awaited) for the qualifying exam can also apply. However, admission will be subject to securing required marks in the qualifying examination
  6. Candidates belonging to the General category and SEBC category must obtain a minimum of 45% and 42% marks respectively, in the qualifying exam, while minimum marks for candidates from SC and ST categories are 40%  

3. Age:

  1. The minimum age of the candidate as of December 31, 2022, should be 17 years
  2. Maximum age is still to be decided by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India
  3. In case of age restriction, as per clause 28 of Legal Education Rules, 2008 of Bar Council of India is re-established, then candidates with a specific age limit will be permitted to apply for the exam

KLEE 2022 Application Form: How to Fill Form?

Following are the five steps to be covered by candidates for successfully completing KLEE Registration:

KLEE New Registration

  • Go to the official website of CEE and click on the ‘LLB 5-year’ tab.
  • Click on LLB 5-year 2022
  • Click on the ‘Apply Online’ tab
  • Click on Integrated Five Year LL.B Course 2021 - Online Application
  • Click on the ‘Registration’ tab.
  • Fill Registration Form
  • The candidate will reach the Registration Confirmation page. Click on the ‘Confirm’ tab if all details are correct, to make changes click on the ‘Edit tab
  • After clicking on confirm, an application number will be generated. Click on ‘Proceed to KLEE Registration/Application’

Fill in KLEE 2022 Application

  • Fill in all the details carefully and correctly in the Application form
  • Recheck all details filled in the form and click on the ‘Save & Preview’ tab
  • A preview of KLEE Application will appear. Carefully read all details. If modifications are required, click on the ‘Edit’ tab, otherwise tick two square boxes under Declaration and click the ‘Final Submission’ tab

Pay KLEE 2022 Application Fee

  • Click on the ‘Pay KLEE Application Fee’ tab
  • Pay KLEE Application Fee through Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or E-Challan Sub/Head Post Offices in Kerala and Lakshadweep. Select the mode of payment from Online Payment and E-Challan.
  • On selecting E-Challan, Instruction for payment through E-Challan will appear, along with a link to Print E-Challan. Candidate should print E-Challan and follow the instruction to make payment through it
  • On selecting ‘Online Payment’, the candidate should click the ‘Go for Payment’ tab
  • Read payment instructions and ‘Online Payment Policies’ carefully. Then click on ‘Proceed to Pay’
  • Make payment through Credit Card, Debit Card + ATM PIN or Internet Banking

Upload Documents for KLEE Registration

  • Candidates will have to upload scanned images of their photograph
  • Candidates will also have to upload scanned images of the following certificates, wherever applicable-
  1. Certificate to Prove Nativity for Keralites
  2. Non-Creamy Layer Certificate for SEBC/OEC Candidate
  3. Inter-caste Marriage Certificate (child of an inter-caste marriage couple of whom one of them is SC/ST)
  4. Certificate for Ex-Service Men
  5. Claim for Children of Serving Defence/Para Military
  • Candidates will also have to upload certificates to validate their academic qualifications
  • Candidates will have to upload one of the following proof of Nativity-
  1. Copy of birth certificate issued by either panchayat or municipality or corporation, entailing details or candidate’s place of birth in any State or Union Territory
  2. Copy of Secondary School Leaving Certificate, depicting the place of birth in any State or Union Territory
  3. Page of the passport showing the place of birth of the candidate
  4. Original Certificate from a Village Officer or competent authority (in prescribed format) verifying candidate’s nativity of any State or Union Territory

In case candidate forgets password or application number for their KLEE Application Form, both of which are necessary to login into the account, the candidate can do so by first going to the following link -cee.kerala.gov.in and then clicking on the ‘Candidate Login’ tab

  • Click on the ‘Forgot your Password’ tab
  • Enter Application Number, Date of Birth, Registered Email ID and click on the ‘Submit’ tab to receive an email giving details regarding password

KLEE 2022 Application Form Correction

  • Candidates will not be given the chance to make changes to any of the details mentioned in their KLEE 2022 Application Form.
  • Therefore, candidates are suggested to carefully and correctly fill in all the details.
  • While filling the registration form and application form, the candidate gets the option to see a preview of the form and make any changes if required at that time before submitting the form.
  • Subsequent to the final submission of KLEE Application Form, no requisition for modifications in details will be entertained by CEE.

Ques. How many private self-financing law colleges participate in KLEE 2022 for a 5-year LLB course?

Ans. Currently, 18 private self-financing law colleges offer admission through allotment of Government merit seats. Any new additions will be mentioned on the official website. 

Ques. What is the number of seats available for candidates appearing for KLEE 2022?

Ans. Four Government Law Colleges located in Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Thrissur, and Kozhikode offer 80 seats each, implying a total of 32 seats are offered for allotment by Government Law Colleges. Meanwhile, the existing 18 private self-financing law colleges offer a total of 915 seats, with individual colleges offering a different number of seats.

Ques. If the candidate is unable to upload the photo to KLEE 2022 Application Form. What is the reason?

Ans. Photographs of a candidate must be uploaded in prescribed format and dimensions, which can be found in the ‘photo guideline’ on the application portal. If they are still unable to upload their photos, candidates can contact the conducting body’s helpline.

Ques. Is it necessary to complete all five steps involved in the online submission of supplication in a single sitting?

Ans. It is not required to complete all steps in a single sitting. Subsequent to registration, the candidate can complete the remaining steps login into the account using their KLEE Application Form number and password.

Ques. Is nativity certificate necessary for KLEE?

Ans. Yes, candidates are required to bring along their nativity certificate for document verification through KLEE 2022. 

Ques. How do I register for Klee 2022?

Ans. Candidates can apply for the exam online on the official website. Only online applications are accepted for KLEE Entrance Exam. 

Ques. Are KLEE and CEE the same?

Ans. KLEE is a state-level entrance exam conducted for admissions to 3-year/5-year LLB and LLM programs to law colleges across Kerala. CEE or Commissioner of Entrance Examination is responsible for conducting KLEE entrance exam.
