MAH MCA CET 2023 Syllabus has been released by the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra. It gives candidates an idea about the topics and subjects covered in MAH MCA CET 2023 question paper. MAH MCA CET 2023 exam is going to comprise 4 sections. A total of 100 questions are going to be asked from Maths & Statistics, Logical or Abstract Reasoning, English Comprehension & Verbal Ability, and Computer concepts. 

The maximum number of questions in MAH MCA CET 2023 are asked from Mathematics & Statistics and Logical Reasoning. The test is comprised of MCQs and it is going to be conducted in online mode in 4th week of March. All aspiring candidates seeking admission to MCA must take note of the syllabus mentioned below while preparing for the exam. MAH MCA CET Syllabus is designed to assess candidates' aptitude on the following parameters:

  • Mathematics & Statistics – The questions covered topics of high school mathematics (up to the 12th standard)
  • Logical / Abstract Reasoning – This section is designed to measure the speed and logical thinking of candidates and check the problem-solving capability of the candidate.
  • English Comprehension and Verbal – Questions in this section are designed to test the candidate’s general understanding of the English language.
  • Computer Concepts – This section consisted of questions to test the candidate’s extent of knowledge about computers and their systems.

Algebra Fundamental operations in Algebra, Expansion, factorization, Quadratic equations, indices, logarithms, arithmetic, geometric and harmonic progressions, binomial theorem, permutations and combinations.
Co-ordinate Geometry Rectangular cartesian co-ordinates, equations of a line, mid-point, intersections, etc., equations of a circle, distance formulae, pair of straight lines, parabola, ellipse and hyperbola, simple geometric transformations such as translation, rotation, scaling.
Probability & Statistics Basic concepts of probability theory, Averages, Dependent and independent events, frequency distributions, and measures of dispersions, skewness and kurtosis, random variable and distribution functions, mathematical expectations, Binomial, Poisson, normal distributions, curve fitting, and the principle of least squares, correlation, and regression.
Differential Equations Differential equations of the first order and their solutions, linear differential equations with constant coefficients, homogeneous linear differential equations.
Trigonometry Simple identities, trigonometric equations, properties of triangles, solution of triangles, height and distance, inverse function.
Arithmetic Ratios and proportions, problems on time-work, distance-speed, percentage, etc.
Basic Set Theory and Functions Set, relations and mappings
Mensuration Areas, triangles and quadrilaterals, area and circumference of circles, volumes and surface areas of simple solids such as cubes, spheres, cylinders, and cones.

Marking Scheme and Time Duration

Given below is the weight of every section. Candidates can very well follow the marking scheme to prepare well for the exam. Moreover, negative marking is there in the exam. Every correct answer will carry 2 marks and 0.5 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. Any unanswered question will carry 0 marks.

Ques: How much time will I get to complete my exam?

Ans: You will get 90 minutes to complete 100 questions. Each question carries 2 marks. For each wrong answer, 0.5 marks will be deducted. The maximum number of questions will be asked from Mathematics & Statistics and Logical Reasoning that is 30 questions from each section. 

Ques: How should I prepare for MAH MCA CET 2023?

Ans: You should start your preparation after getting a good knowledge of the syllabus. Once you have an idea about the major topics of the exam then you can easily start with your preparation. The syllabus will help you in making a preparation plan for the exam. 

Ques: What would be the major topics of MAH MCA CET Maths section?

Ans: Maths section will cover the maximum topics of high school mathematics up to the 12th standard. Ans: No. Candidates are not allowed to carry calculators with them to the examination hall. All the candidates are advised to practice and prepare without using calculators that will help them in the exam. If any candidate found will any prohibited item then his/her candidature could be canceled by the authorities

Ques: It is necessary to answer all the questions in the exam?

Ans: No. It is not necessary to answer all the questions in the exam. Candidates can leave questions unattempted and 0 marks will be awarded to the same whereas for wrong answers 0.5 marks will be deducted.
