NEET Topper Preparation Tips

How Toppers study for NEET exam?

NEET Toppers provide valuable tips and suggestions to crack the toughest medical entrance exam in India. Read the preparation tips shared by NEET 2021 topper Aniruddha Das given below:

NEET 2021 Topper Aniruddha Das who has scored 681 marks and 794 AIR rank has cracked the examination in his first attempt. In an interview with News18, he has shared his preparation strategy and paper attempting tricks which are mentioned below:

  • He had started his NEET preparation from Class 11.
  • As per the timetable of Aniruddha, he used to study 14-16 a day a few months before the exam. But during the early preparation days, he used to study 10+ hours with multiple breaks.
  • He believes that his consistent preparation plan had helped him to crack the exam.

NEET 2021 Topper Aniruddha Subject Wise Preparation Plan

  • For physics preparation, he had studied objective physics for NEET by DC Pandey.
  • For chemistry preparation, he had studied MTG NCERT at Your Fingertips.
  • Other than that he used to solve previous year's question papers on a daily basis and focused on revision of the syllabus.

NEET 2021 Topper Aniruddha Exam Attempting Strategy

  • Since Biology has the maximum number of questions and it is a scoring section, therefore, NEET 2021 topper Aniruddha had first solved the biology questions followed by chemistry and physics.
  • The other reason to start with biology questions is that physics and chemistry questions require calculations that could be time taking.
  • He had scored full marks in the Biology section which had helped in his overall score.

Read the ideologies that NEET Toppers over the years followed and reached the pinnacle of success:

  •  Well-informed of the ground rules: With NEET, one must know about the exam, right from the syllabus, pattern, marking scheme, topic-wise weightage, etc.
  • Toppers Strategies and follow a disciplined plan: They pursue a disciplined strategy with consistency. They know their strengths and weaknesses and study accordingly. NEET Toppers focus on concepts, applications and understanding the tricky topics. They even know how to memorize the topics.
    • Equally manage and divide time for all 4 subjects- Physics, Chemistry, Zoology and Botany.
    • Study for at least 13-16 hours a day.
    • Take Breaks
    • Set realistic daily, weekly and monthly targets. Stick to your plan and achieve your targets.
  • Importance of smart work over hard work: Majorly believe in quality over quantity. Avoid referring to multiple sources for topics and overloading with extra key points. They understand the importance of study material, coaching/teachers. Know till an extent to have your topics cleared and what could potentially be asked.
  • Help of Online Assistance: Candidates must note that NEET is a time based exam, where what rank you secure is decided by the application of knowledge you acquired by understanding concepts and for this, it is very essential to get your concepts cleared. For this, you can seek Online coaching which is a better and economical way to have your doubts cleared.
  • Take Mock Tests and Subscribe to Test Series: Take and subscribe for test series schemes offered topic-wise on a regular basis. Take NEET Mock Tests, tally your answers, match your score with NEET Cut-off, then analye your performance. Solve more papers, previous year question papers and notice the progress. Examine your weak areas and work upon it. Also Check NEET Cut Off
  • Subject Wise Time Allotment: Split time subject-wise where you focus on subjects you think requires more attention. But that dosent apply if you take it for granted and ignore the subject that you’re good at. Set limits and finish subjects within the allotted time. Physics requires time solving numericals, understanding and remembering of formulae and recalling it within seconds comes with practice. In Chemsitry, NEET toppers usually find it as a scoring subject and less time consuming, whereas, Biology is a vast subject. Hence, time should be managed and allotted accordingly.
  • Alive and Kicking: Never Panic, they always stay cool and calm during the preparation and even in the examination hall. As maintaining the well-being of yourself is equally important. For this, a healthy, well-balanced diet, sound sleep, and an active lifestyle are required. Avoid junk food and stay healthy and fit.
  • Prepare a time table. Don’t follow the schedule of others. Make sure you achieve your daily or weekly targets. Understand the concepts rather than memorizing things (except some topics in Chemistry and Biology).
  • Try to make your own notes. It helps you in remembering more as you’ll write things on your own rather than reading from a book. Never try to copy the exact content from the textbook. Read and then write them in your own language. To have efficient preparation, consistent revision is necessary. Your notes will help you at the time of revising topics.
