TS POLYCET 2023 is held as an offline pen & paper-based test for admission to Polytechnics. All the candidates need to carefully go through TS POLYCET Exam Pattern 2023 to understand the marking scheme of the examination, type of questions asked, number of questions, etc. TS POLYCET 2023 question paper comprises one test paper for 150 marks, with questions from Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with Multiple Choice Questions. Each correct answer earns one mark. Negative marking scheme is not applicable.

  • Candidates applying for admission to Polytechnics in engineering and non-engineering courses are required to attempt Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Biology section is optional for such candidates.
  • On the other hand, candidates looking for admission into Agricultural Diploma Courses offered by PJTSAU are required to compulsorily attempt Biology questions in TS POLYCET exam. 

Since there has been a reduction of about 30% in school board syllabus, therefore TS POLYCET Syllabus 2023 will be revised based on the new Class 10 syllabus. Candidates must score minimum 30% marks i.e., 36 marks out of 120 marks in TS POLYCET 2023 for admission into Polytechnic colleges in Jharkhand.   • TS POLYCET Exam Pattern 2023 for engineering consists of three sections- Physics and Chemistry, and Mathematics. Attempting the Biology questions is optional for such candidates.
  • Single test paper consisting of 120 multiple-choice questions.
  • Candidates need to attempt the paper within the allotted duration of 2 hours.
  • Each correct answer is allotted one mark. There is no negative marking.

  • TS POLYCET Exam Pattern 2023 for agriculture courses consists of four sections- Physics and Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology. 
  • There are 150 multiple-choice questions for one mark each.
  • Candidates need to attempt the paper within the allotted duration of 2 hours 30 minutes.
  • There is no negative marking in TS POLYCET 2023.

  • The test paper will consist of 120 objective type multiple choice questions for engineering and 150 MCQs for agriculture.
  • The total marks for TS POLYCET 2023 are 120 marks. 
  • There is no negative marking. Also, there is no deduction from the total score if no response is indicated for any question.

To be eligible for admissions based on the entrance exam, TS POLYCET Qualifying Marks 2023 is 30%.

Polytechnics of Technical Education Department 30% of 120 marks= 36 marks
Agricultural Polytechnics of Prof. Jayashankar Agricultural University, Hyderabad 30% of 120 marks= 36 marks

For engineering admissions, 36 marks are required in Maths, Physics, and Chemistry put together while for agriculture admission, 36 marks are required in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together.

Every section has different weightage as depending on the number of questions. TS POLYCET OMR Instructions

Important Instructions to Fill TS POLYCET OMR Sheet

  • Fill required information on the OMR Response Sheet before starting the test.
  • 5 minutes will be given before the start of the exam for furnishing all formalities and completing entries on the OMR Response Sheet like Sequence, Number of Question papers, Application / Registration Number, Roll Number, Exam etc.
  • Don’t Open the sealed OMR Response Sheet and Question Paper Set before the instructions of the Invigilator.
  • Read the Instruction carefully to mark responses on the OMR Sheet. If any mistake in marking is done then the scanner will not be able to read the response.
  • Mark the circles completely; partially marked circles will be considered incorrect.
  • Don’t leave any smudge marks on the OMR sheet or question paper. It can lead to disqualification.
  • Use the provided space at the end of the question paper to do rough work.
  • Check pages of the Question paper and the OMR Sheet, if there is any issue, immediately bring it to the notice of the Invigilator and get it changed.
  • Candidates are not allowed to carry any textual material, Calculators, Pen, Slide Rules, Log Tables, Electronic Watches with facilities of calculator, printed or written material, bits of papers, mobile phone, pager or any other device, except the Admit Card, identity proof, document as required.
