Candidates who will be selected on the basis of the merit list will move on to further counselling process which will be undertaken into account by AKTU in their campus, where the candidate has to report physically.

  • It is very important to follow the specified time provided by the university and to act accordingly to that, failing which the seat will be reserved for SC/ST or any other candidate concerned.
  • The official dates for the counselling process will be notified soon by the university in its official website, but following the tentative pattern, the process can fall within the month of June or July 2021. the candidate is advised to visit the university website for further updates.

Counselling Eligibility

USPEE MBA 2021 Counselling Eligibility

To get admission through UPSEE MBA 2021 Counselling, candidates are required to fulfil the eligibility criteria set by AKTU. It is mandatory for UPSEE MBA aspirants to meet the minimum eligibility criteria required for seat allotment given below:

  • All those candidates aspiring for MBA admission through UPSEE MBA 2021 must possess any graduation degree of minimum three-year duration at Matriculation/Inter/Degree level.
  • Candidates belonging to General and OBC category have to secure minimum 50% aggregate marks in UPSEE MBA 2021 to be eligible for counselling and seat allotment rounds.
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST category have to score at least 45% aggregate marks in the entrance examination to be eligible for counselling process as well as seat allotment rounds.

UPSEE MBA 2021 Counselling Procedure

There will be five rounds which the candidate has to face, all of which will depend on the availability of seats concerned.

First Round

It is the introductory round or in other words the round where the first impression of the candidate will come into play. Be focused, tackle the questions effectively and the most important don’t be nervous.

Second Round (Special Counselling)

In this round, the vacant seats of the subcategory shall be merged into respective vertical categories. Thus, subcategories GL/AF/FF/PH seats will cease to exist from this round onward. However, main categories GEN/OBC/SC/ST shall remain in existence. Those candidates, who could not participate in the First Round of Counselling, may also participate in this round.

Third Round (Additional Special Counselling for SC Category Candidates)

In this round, the vacant seats of ST Category shall be merged into SC Category seats. Thus, ST category seats will cease to exist from this round onward. However, categories GEN/OBC/SC shall remain in existence. Those candidates, who could not participate in the 1st and 2nd Rounds of Counselling, may also participate in this round following the process of fresh registration.

Fourth Round

In this round, the vacant seats of OBC/SC Category shall be merged with GENERAL Category seats. Thus, all the vacant seats shall become GENERAL Category seats in this round onward. Those candidates, who could not participate in the 1st, 2nd and 3rdrounds of Counselling, may also participate in this round following the process of fresh registration.

Fifth Round

Fifth round of counselling shall be held only for vacant seats as informed by the Institutes to the University after reporting of the allotted candidates. All the vacant seats in this round of counselling shall be GENERAL Category seats. There will be no fresh registration in this round.


Step-wise Counselling

Step-wise UPSEE MBA 2021 Counselling Process

Candidate has to efficiently follow the four important steps, to clear the counselling procedure. The steps are mentioned below:

Step 1: Registration and Payment of Fees

Candidates will start the Counselling Procedure by visiting the official website. They will use their Application number and password which they had used for filling UPSEE MBA 2021 Application Form and register themselves for the Counselling process of UPSEE MBA 2021.

After logging in, candidates will see the terms and conditions of UPSEE MBA 2021 counselling process. Candidates will click on “I Agree”. They will then be able to see their personal details and the streams in which they have qualified.

Towards the end of the page, they will see a field asking, ‘Do you belong to the Fee Waiver Scheme?’. Candidates who are eligible for this must click the box and those who are not should leave the box blank.

After clicking ‘Submit’ the candidates will move ahead with the payment of registration fees.

Payment of Fees for registration will only be done online through the candidate's Credit Card / Debit Card/Internet Banking. The Registration Fee is INR 20,000 for General/OBC candidates and INR 12,000 for SC/ST Category candidates.

This registration Fee shall be adjusted against the Institute Fee at the time of admission in the Allotted Institute.

The full Registration Fee of those candidates, who could not be allotted a seat as per their choice list, shall be refunded.

The Registration Fee for those candidates, who gets allotted a seat and withdraws (through “Withdraw” Option) as per provision given in the counselling schedule, after deduction of administrative charges with a rate of INR 2000 per round of counselling in which a candidate has participated, shall be refunded online in the same account.

The Registration Fee for those candidates, who confirms a seat allotted to him by exercising “Freeze” option (in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Round)/ “Freeze with Upgrade” option or “Freeze without Upgrade” option (in 4th round) and does not report for admission in the allotted Institute, shall be forfeited.

After successful payment of fees, candidates will receive a notification on their registered mobile number. Candidates will then be able to move to the next step of choice locking and choice filling.

Step 2: Choice Locking and Choice Filling

Candidates must fill their choices and may alter/modify/delete or add choices before locking them until the last date of choice filling as per their convenience. To do so they will log-in on their UPSEE MBA 2021 profile through the official website.

During the time of choice filling, candidates have the option of saving their choice. This would mean that the candidate can visit their profile again and again. But to confirm their choice, they have to click on ‘Lock’. Once ‘Lock’ is clicked, they will not be able to change their options.

The candidate will take a printout of the locked choices for their convenience.

The choice list filled by the candidate will be used throughout the Counselling Procedure including all the rounds. Candidates will not be able to alter/modify/add/delete choices in later rounds of counselling.

Before filling the choices, candidates must do a quick study of the different branches of courses in institutes, eligibility requirements of the institute, number of seats available in different colleges, the cut-off ranks of previous years etc.

At the same time, candidates must not hesitate to fill plenty of choices in the list. This will only help the candidate in widening their selection for colleges and institutions.

Step 3: Document Verification

In this step, candidates have to visit the documents verification centre to get their documents and certificates verified.

It is advised to carry all the required documents and original certificates to show and a set consisting of self-attested photocopies of the certificates to be deposited at the document verification centre.

Candidates have an option to choose from a massive list of documents verification centres. The list is given below in the article.

Candidates are allowed to go document verification centre on any day during specified period at the document verification as per their convenience. It is advised to go to the verification centre preferably as per the following schedule to avoid crowd/inconvenience.

Step 4: Allotment and Confirmation of Seats

After candidate’s documents are verified the result of seat allotment will be declared on the official website. If the candidate sees their name on the list, they will visit the allotted institute to either confirm the allotted seat by payment of Seat Acceptance Fee and complete the admission process or withdraw from the process of counselling.

The following options will be available to candidates in all rounds, with a little variation in round 4 of counselling process:

  1. Freeze Option: A candidate, who is satisfied with the presently allotted seat to them and does not want to be considered for upgradation of seat in subsequent rounds of counselling, should opt for the Freeze option in order to confirm the seat presently allotted to them.
  2. Float Option: A candidate, who wants to confirm the seat presently allotted to them and also at the same time wants to be considered for upgradation of seat in later rounds of counselling on the basis of his already filled choices, should opt for the Float option.
  3. Withdraw Option: Candidates who are not satisfied with the presently allotted seat to them and do not want to be considered for allotment in any subsequent rounds of counselling, should opt for the withdrawal option.

In case, a candidate could not be allotted any seat on the basis of the choices filled by them, they will have to choose one of the following available options:

If a candidate could not be allotted a seat and they do not choose any of the above options during the specified period, they will be automatically treated to have opted for” float” and shall be automatically considered for next round (if due to be held) of counselling. 

  1. “Freeze with Upgrade” Option: A candidate, who wants to confirm the seat presently allotted to them and also at the same time wants to be considered for upgradation of seat in 5th round of counselling on the basis of their already filled choices, are required to opt for the “Freeze with Upgrade” option. Registration Fee submitted by the candidate shall be adjusted against Institute fee at the time of admission in the Allotted Institute of the candidate.

Such candidates, who choose this option and reports for admission in the respective Allotted Institute within the specified period, shall be considered for seat allotment in the 5th round of counselling. The candidate, after exercising this option must download and print their Provisional Allotment Letter.

The candidate, while appearing for the counselling process, needs to bring some documents along for security and verification purposes.

  • Candidate’s UPSEE MBA 2021 Admit Card
  • Mark sheet of qualifying exam
  • High school Certificate
  • Character certificate from the Head of Institution last attended.
  • Certificate of Medical Fitness
  • Domicile certificate, if applicable
  • Category certificate such as OBC/SC/ST, if applicable
  • Subcategory certificate (Freedom fighters/ Armed forces/ Physically handicapped) whichever is applicable
  • Income certificate (applicable for economically weaker only)
  • GDDA category certificate, if applicable
  • Rural Weightage certificate, if applicable
  • If any of the documents at the time of verification are not produced or it is found that the documents are faulty, the candidate’s candidature will be cancelled.

Ques. What are the factors on which the merit list will depend?

Ans. UPSEE MBA 2021 merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the Kerala Management Aptitude Test.

Ques. Can I get some other day for counselling if I am not able to come on the specified day?

Ans. No, if the candidate is not able to come then the seat of the candidate will be given to someone else.

Ques. What is the minimum cut off for OBC candidates in UPSEE MBA 2021?

Ans. The minimum cut off is 25% which is equivalent to 25/100.
