WBJEE 2022 exam dates have been released. The exam is scheduled for April 23, 2022. The last date to submit WBJEE Application form is extended till January 16, 2022, up to 6:00 pm. Successfully registered candidates can visit the official website at wbjeeb.nic.in to make corrections to their submitted application form. WBJEE 2022 Form Correction window is open from January 18 to January 20, 2022. Candidates can edit their domicile status, PwD status, category, and other details through the form correction window.   • No changes have been made in WBJEE 2022 Exam Pattern or syllabus. The exam will be held as an OMR examination (offline) with two different papers-
    • Paper I – Mathematics
    • Paper-II – Physics, and Chemistry.
  • To qualify for WBJEE 2022, candidates need to appear and clear both Paper I and Paper-II.

  • According to the reports of WBJEE 2021, 65,170 candidates appeared for the exam of which 64,850 candidates were eligible for the counselling process.

Domicile requirement for WBJEE is required to be eligible for counselling process. The domicile criteria is required for-
- any seat in any Government-aided Engineering/ Technology/ Pharmacy Colleges.
- 90% for general category seats in Jadavpur University.
- any seat in Aliah University.
- any seat including general category seats in B.Tech (Dairy Technology) in West Bengal University of Animal & Fishery Sciences
- any reserved category seat (SC, ST, OBC- A, OBC- B, PwD, TFW) in any course in any institute.

WBJEE Application Form

WBJEE 2022 Application Form

  • WBJEE 2022 Registrations are now closed. WBJEEB had released WBJEE 2022 Application Form on December 24, 2021 on the official site i.e. wbjeeb.nic.in.
  • Candidates can apply for WBJEE 2022 through online mode only.
  • Candidates can follow the steps below to fill WBJEE 2022 Application Form​
    • Step 1: Visit the official website of WBJEE 2022 at wbjeeb.nic.in and click on the ‘New Registration’ link.
      • Fill in the details like name, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth, gender, type of identification and contact number.
      • Preview the details filled in the registration and then click on ‘Submit’.
      • After successful submission of the registration form, an application number is sent to the registered mobile number and the provided email ID.
    • Step 2: After successfully filling WBJEE 2022 Application Form, login to the candidate portal using the received application number and the password that you have created and fill in all the details required in WBJEE 2022 Registration Form.
      • Candidates will also have to choose three zones of cities to be allocated as their exam center.
    • Step 3: Upload scanned images of your photograph and signature as per the specifications provided by the authorities.
    • Step 4: Pay WBJEE 2022 Application Fee through online mode.
    • Step 5: Save the soft copies of the application form and fee receipt and also get a printout of the same for future use.

WBJEE 2022 Application Fees

  • WBJEE 2022 Application Fee is to be paid online through Net banking/ Debit Card/ Credit Card only.
  • Apart from the said application fee, additional Bank service charges are also applicable.

  • WBJEEB has provide candidates with a one-time opportunity to make changes to their submitted WBJEE application form through the form corrections window.
  • Candidates can edit their domicile status, PwD status, category, and other details through WBJEE 2022 Application Form Correction.
  • However, other details like candidate’s name, parent’s name, gender and date of birth, etc., CANNOT be changed.

WBJEE 2022 Exam Pattern

  • WBJEEB has been conducting WBJEE in offline mode only as an OMR-based examination.
  • Candidates are required to select the right answer by darkening the appropriate circle completely on WBJEE response sheet with a blue/black ball point pen.
  • WBJEE 2022 consists of 2 papers, each allotted a different time slot on the same day. Each paper is held for 2 hours.
  • There are three categories of questions asked in WBJEE-
    • Category 1- 1 mark questions with a negative marking of ¼ for each incorrect answer.
    • Category 2- 2 mark questions with a negative marking of ½ for each incorrect answer.
    • Category 3- 2 mark questions with no negative marking.

  • The total number of questions for each subject in WBJEE is divided into 3 categories, wherein, Physics & Chemistry have the same number of questions in each category i.e. 30, 5 & 5 in category 1, 2 & 3 respectively; whereas Mathematics consists of 50, 15 & 10 in category 1, 2 & 3 respectively.

Around a total of 65,170 candidates participated in WBJEE 2021, such a large number of candidates makes, WBJEE a highly competitive exam. Apart from this, WBJEE also has category reservations for OBCs, SC, ST, PwD, EWS, which makes the competition even tougher. Therefore it is important for aspirants to start their WBJEE 2022 Preparation. 

  • Know the Official Exam Syllabus and Exam Pattern: Being aware of the official syllabus will help eliminate any misconceptions/doubts regarding the topics that need to be studied. Knowing WBJEE 2022 Exam Pattern will help you to build your time management skills while practicing for the examination.

It is advised that you practice at least 7-8 previous years papers & as many sample papers as you can. According to experts, there are a number of previous year questions even from JEE Main and JEE Advanced that are asked in WBJEE exam. 
  • Good Diet, Exercise & Sleep is a Must: Health is something you must not compromise on. You surely don’t want to wake up being sick on the examination day. Maintain a good diet, exercise & sleep throughout the year as it will not only keep you healthy but also keep you energized, active, improve your memory, concentration and eventually help you score higher marks.

  • Allocation of WBJEE 2022 Exam Center will be based on the choices filled by candidates during online registration. However, the final discretion will be that of WBJEEB.

WBJEE 2022 Admit Card

  • WBJEEB will publish WBJEE 2022 Admit Card on April 18, 2022. Candidates must download & print the admit card from the official website- wbjeeb.nic.in.
  • Candidate can use the following steps to download WBJEE 2022 Admit Card:
    • Visit the official website of WBJEE – wbjeeb.nic.in
    • Click on “Download WBJEE Admit Card” link.
    • Enter your Application Number and Password in the login portal.
    • Click on submit and your admit card will appear on the screen.
    • Check all the details and download it.

WBJEE 2022 Answer Key

  • WBJEEB first releases a provisional WBJEE Answer Key which is open to challenge in case any candidate has any objection against the same. Only after all the objections raised have been processes, WBJEEB releases the final set of Answer Key. 
  • WBJEEB also releases the OMR image responses for the candidates to evaluate, analyze & predict their scores.
  • In case the candidates feel that there are misprints in their OMR Responses or are not satisfied with the correct answer of the question they can opt for a review by ‘Challenging Responses’ or ‘Challenging Answer Key’ respectively.
    • In such cases, the candidate has to submit INR 500 for each response he wants to be reviewed.
  • The process of downloading the OMR response key and WBJEE 2022 Answer Key comprises the following steps:
    • Visit WBJEE 2022 official website and click the link to download WBJEE Answer Key.
    • Enter your registration number, password and security pin.
    • All the recorded responses will be displayed along with the official answer key

WBJEE 2022 Result

  • WBJEEB (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board) prepares the result on the basis of the Final Answer Key.
  • WBJEE 2022 Result will publish the result online by the 4th week of May 2022.
  • Candidates will need to download the result by logging in to the official website of WBJEE. Results will not be shared with any candidate individually.
  • Candidates can follow the below-mentioned steps to download their WBJEE 2022 scorecard once it becomes available.

    • Look for the link “WBJEE 2022 Result” and click on it.

  • WBJEEB publishes WBJEE Cutoffs online after each round of counselling.
  • Various factors such as the total number of seats, total number of students who appeared for the exam, marking scheme, difficulty level of WBJEE 2022, etc. determine the cutoff.
  • WBJEE cutoffs are published rank-wise, category-wise and course-wise separately.
  • Candidates can refer to the previous years WBJEE cutoffs to be able to know the expected cutoff for 2022.

WBJEE 2022 Merit List

WBJEE merit list includes the names of the candidates shortlisted for counselling and further admission process, marks obtained in Paper I (Mathematics), Marks obtained in Paper-II (Physics & Chemistry), total marks secured, and category-wise overall rank.

WBJEEB releases WBJEE Merit List soon after the results are announced. Candidates require entering their login credentials i.e., application number and password to check the merit list. Candidates qualifying the merit list will be eligible to participate in WBJEE 2022 Counselling and admission procedure.

Upon availability, candidates can follow the below-mentioned steps to check/ view WBJEE 2022 merit list :

  • Click on the link ‘WBJEE 2022 Merit List’
  • Enter your roll number and date of birth
  • Click on the ‘Submit’ tab.
  • WBJEE 2022 Merit List will be displayed

The officials prepare WBJEE merit list as per the below-mentioned criteria-

  • WBJEEB considers the marks secured and subject taken by a candidate in WBJEE exam.
  • Separate merit list is released for each category.
  • In case of similar WBJEE ranks, tie-breaker is conducted for candidates.
  • 10% seats are reserved for JEE Main qualified candidates.

WBJEE 2022 Counselling :

WBJEE counselling will be conducted separately for every successfully qualified candidate. The online registration for the counselling procedure will begin after the declaration of result. Seats of various colleges will be allotted to the candidates in various rounds as per their ranks in the Merit List of WBJEE 2022.

WBJEEB usually conducts two rounds of WBJEE counselling followed by a mop-up round. WBJEE rank holders will be able to participate in all three rounds of WBJEE counselling 2022 while JEE Main rank holders will be able to participate in only one round (by paying a fee of Rs. 500).

For a candidate to gain admission in their preferred course and institute, WBJEE 2022 Counselling procedures can be divided into 4 major steps. After the final step, document verification of candidates will be conducted at the reporting centres. The steps of the counselling process are briefed below.

  • Step 1 : Aspiring candidates who have either qualified WBJEE 2022 or JEE Main 2022 will need to register themselves for the counselling process. The registration can be done only on the official site i.e. wbjee.nic.in by filling in the details required. On successful registration, candidates will be provided with the ID & Password which has to be noted & kept safely for future use.
  • Step 2: The next step to counselling after successful registration is payment of INR 500 as WBJEE Counselling Fees.
  • Step 3: After the payment is made, candidates will be provided with the opportunity to choose institutes for seat allotment. Candidates should be very cautious while Filling and Locking choices of institutes. It is advised to select the maximum possible number of institutes/branches (at least 20). This ensures seat allotment.
  • Step 4: Once the institutes are selected, the candidates will be alloted seats based on their ranks & preference. The candidates will be able to check their allocated seats on the official site by logging into their accounts.
    • After the allocation of seats the candidates will be provided with the facility to -
    • Accept the seat
    • Accept with the possibility of upgrading to higher choices
    • D0 nothing
    • In case of acceptance, the candidate will need to pay the seat acceptance fee (₹5000 for allotment in Govt. Institutes, ₹5000 for allotment in TFW category and ₹40000 for allotment in Pvt. Institutes) and download the provisional; allotment letter, which is subject to successful physical verification by the concerned institute.
  • Step 5: Upon making the payment, the Virtual Reporting Centres (VRCs) will verify the documents uploaded by the candidates & will intimate the candidate about the status of approval/rejection SMS. The candidate will then have to log in & check the reason for rejection. The facility to re-upload the rejected document will be provided for a certain amount of time. Candidates can also contact the Central Control Room of WBJEE for any help required.

Ans. WBJEEB has released WBJEE 2022 Application Form on the official website. Candidates can apply online from December 24, 2021 to January 10, 2022 on the official site wbjee.nic.in. Check WBJEE 2022 Application Form

Ques. What is the application fees for WBJEE 2022?

Ans. For all aspiring candidates, it is important to know WBJEE 2022 Application Fee, which is based upon 2 different categories as listed below -

Ques. Will WBJEE 2022 accept offline payments?

Ans. No. WBJEE 2022 Application Fee will be accepted in Online Mode only. You can opt for Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking for making the payment.

Ques. Can I edit WBJEE 2022 Application Form after submission?

Ans. Yes,WBJEE 2022 Form Correction will be allowed from January 11 to January 13, 2022. WBJEE Form Correction Facility will NOT be applicable for Candidate's Name, Father's Name, Mother's Name, Gender, Domicile and Date of Birth.

Ques. What will be the type of questions in WBJEE 2022? Is it all MCQs?

Ans. Yes, WBJEE 2022 will consist of Multiple Choice Questions only. Each question will have 4 options as answers. Candidates will have to select one correct option & shade the appropriate circle on the OMR Sheet with their Black/Blue Ball point pen.

Ans. The distribution of questions is as following

Ques. Will there be any negative marking in the WBJEE 2022 examination?

Ans. Yes. The total number of questions for each subject will be divided into 3 categories, wherein, Physics & Chemistry will have the same number of questions in each category i.e. 30, 5 & 5 in category 1, 2 & 3 respectively; whereas Mathematics will consist of 50, 15 & 10 in category 1, 2 & 3 respectively.

There are different positive as well as negative marks for the 3 different categories of questions.

Category 1 1/4 mark deducted for each incorrect response
Category 2 1/2 marks deducted for each incorrect response
Category 3 0 marks deducted for each incorrect response

Is WBJEE easier than JEE Mains?

Hi Swati, for a student who has prepared well for JEE(main) or JEE(advanced),it is very easy to get an under 1k rank in WBJEE. The questions are actually easier in WBJEE compared to JEE(main) because JEE is a national level exam while WBJEE is a state level one.

Hi PRtha, Yes, Candidate must be a citizen of India to appear for WBJEE. Candidates from any states are eligible. The domicile certificate will be applicable only for admission in government participating institutes and to claim reservation
