WBJEE Result 2023: Dates, Direct Link, Rank Card @ wbjeeb.nic.in

WBJEE result 2023 is going to be declared on June 15, 2023 at the official website. Candidates need their application number and DoB to download WBJEE 2023 Rank Card. The result includes details such as the marks secured by the candidate in WBJEE 2023 and other personal details. Out of the total 101413 candidates who registered, 80.26% appeared for the exam conducted on April 30. Out of these, 80132 candidates have qualified WBJEE 2023 which is 98.5%. 58623 (73.2%) are boys and 21509 (26.8%) girl candidates.

Based on the total score obtained in Paper I and Paper II, the authority will prepare two separate WBJEE 2023 Merit List - General Merit Rank list and Pharmacy Merit Rank list. The counselling for successfully registered candidates is expected to start in the third week of August 2023. 

The authority will release WBJEE 2023 cutoff after each round of counselling. The qualifying cutoff is the minimum mark required for passing the examination. Candidates who appeared for WBJEE 2023 can follow the below-mentioned steps to download their scorecard once it becomes available.

  1. Visit the official website of WBJEE 2023 at wbjeeb.nic.in
  2. Look for the link “WBJEE 2023 Result” and click on it.
  3. Login by entering your Application Number, Password and Security Pin as mentioned on WBJEE Admit Card

  5. Download the rank card and take a printout for future references.

In case candidates need a soft copy of WBJEE Rank Card after completion of e-counseling, the same can be obtained from the board by sending a written request along with a demand draft of INR 500 issued in favour of “West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board” and payable at Kolkata.

Request window for issuance of duplicate rank cards will be notified by the exam board. The duplicate rank card will be sent to candidates’ registered email addresses.

WBJEE 2023 Merit List Compilation

WBJEEB prepares two separate merit lists based on the papers (subjects) appeared in WBJEE and the marks obtained thereof. The two lists are: General Merit List (GMR) and Pharmacy Merit List (PMR).

Courses in which admission can be seeked via Merit List Applicable for all Degree Level Engineering / Technology / Architecture Courses available in all enlisted Engineering / Technology Colleges and Universities within the state of West Bengal. Preparation of List It is prepared on the basis of candidate’s score in all subjects i.e. mathematics, physics, and chemistry in WBJEE. The list is prepared on the basis of scores obtained in the combined paper of Physics and Chemistry in WBJEE.
Ranking Ranking will be done in descending order of total marks scored in all subjects. Ranking will be done in descending order of total marks scored in Physics and Chemistry.

WBJEE Result 2023 - Tie Breaking Procedure

The authorities will follow the tie-breaking procedure if two or more candidates secure the same marks in WBJEE 2023 Results. The authority will follow the below-mentioned procedure of Tie-breaking: 

  • Candidates with fewer collective negative marks in PCM will get a higher rank.
  • If the tie is not broken in the first step, then the authority will give a higher rank to the candidate with more collective positive marks in PCM.
  • Otherwise, candidates who will have more marks in Mathematics and Chemistry taken together will be given a higher rank.
  • If the tie is still not broken, the authority will give a higher rank to the candidate with fewer negative marks in Mathematics and Physics taken together. 
  • If the tie still exists, the authority will allocate a higher rank to the candidate with fewer negative marks in Mathematics and Chemistry taken together.
  • If the tie still remains unresolved, then the authority will give a higher rank to the candidate with more positive marks in Mathematics for only the 2 marks questions.
  • If the tie is still not broken, candidates with more positive marks in Physics only for 2 marks questions will be given a higher rank.
  • The authority will give a higher rank to the candidate with more positive marks in Chemistry if the tie still persists.
  • If the tie is still on, the authority will give a higher rank to the candidate with fewer negative marks in Physics.
  • The authority will give a higher rank to the candidate with fewer negative marks in Chemistry if the tie is still not broken.
  • If the tie still persists, the authority will give a higher rank to the candidate with fewer negative marks in Mathematics.
  • If all of the above criteria remain unable to break the tie, then the authority will give a higher on the basis of age. The older candidates will be preferred for admission.
WBJEE 2021 Counselling and Seat Allotment

WBJEE 2023 Counselling & Seat Allotment 

Candidates who will succeed in qualifying the entrance test will be called for counselling rounds. WBJEE 2023 Counselling and Seat Allotment will be conducted in online mode at the official website wbjeeb.nic.in.

  • The seat allotment process comprises 3 rounds wherein candidates will register themselves for counseling and provide choices for college and course preference.
  • On successful seat allotment, candidates need to report at the designated Reporting Centers set-up by WBJEE Board for document verification, payment of seat acceptance fee and completing remaining formalities.
  • Candidates need to report to centres with all the documents required for verification during WBJEE 2021 counselling.

Ques: How can I download my WBJEE 2023 Rank Card?

Ans: The process of downloading a WBJEE 2023 rank card is the same as checking the result. A simple 4 step process to download the WBJEE rank card is as follows:

  1. Open the official website: wbjeeb.nic.in.
  2. Look for the link that reads “WBJEE 2023 Result”.
  3. Click on the link and provide the details of the Application Number and Date of Birth.
  4. Click on the submit button and your WBJEE 2023 score is displayed on the screen.

Ques: Where can candidates seek admission with WBJEE Scores?

Ans: WBJEE qualified candidates can seek admission to Undergraduate programs in Engineering & Technology, Architecture and Pharmacy programs in Universities, Government-aided Colleges and Self-Financed Institutes in West Bengal. Roughly 104 institutes participate in the WBJEE e-counselling to allocate seats in around 42 engineering disciplines. Each participating institute will release their own discipline-wise opening and closing cut-off scores for admission.

Ques: What details will my WBJEE Rank Card carry?

Ans: The Board publishes WBJEE Results online on its official website – wbjeeb.nic.in. The scores of individual students are recorded on Rank Cards, each carrying the rank secured, composite score and sectional scores in both the papers of the entrance exam.

Ques: Will WBJEE 2023 answer keys and OMR sheets be available for download till admissions are over?

Ans: Candidates can download copies of their respective WBJEE OMR response sheets and answer keys from the official website – wbjeeb.nic.in. Please bear in mind that these documents will not be available online post-publication of WBJEE results. In case any candidate fails to download the documents in time and requires them after WBJEE results are published, an application fee of INR 500 per document will have to be paid as a demand draft in favour of ‘West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board’ payable at Kolkata. The documents will be sent to the registered email ID of the candidate.

Ques: How can I get a Calculation Sheet of WBJEE?

Ans: You can estimate your WBJEE score from your OMR response sheets and answer keys released by the Board at wbjeeb.nic.in. You can request for a calculation sheet from the Board, by paying a fee of INR 500 per paper by demand draft in favour of ‘West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board’ payable at Kolkata. Ans: The scoring methodology adopted in WBJEE for the different categories of questions is tabulated below:

Ans: The Board releases two separate Merit Lists, based on the papers appeared in WBJEE and the marks scored in them:

Ques: Can I request a duplicate WBJEE rank card?

Ans: You will not be able to download and print WBJEE rank cards from the official website after a specified date. However, if you require a duplicate rank card after the completion of the e-counselling and admission process, the same can be applied for, till July 31, 2021, by paying a fee of INR 500 in the form of a demand draft in favor of “West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board” payable in Kolkata.

Ques: If I secure a WBJEE 2023 rank, will I be eligible for e-counselling?

Ans: Everyone who secures a WBJEE 2023 rank may not be eligible for e-counselling. In order to qualify for e-counselling, candidates will have to score above the cut-off marks determined by the Board apart from securing a rank in WBJEE. The cut-off score will be announced at the time of WBJEE Result declaration. Candidates will be able to know the cutoff from the official website wbjeeb.nic.in.

Ques: I have appeared for my 12th Board exam this year. I have also applied for WBJEE. In case I clear WBJEE but do not pass my Board Exam, do I still qualify for counselling?

Ans: A candidate appearing in the Qualifying Examination in 2021 is eligible to appear for WBJEE. However, the candidate will not be considered eligible for admission unless they meet the minimum eligibility criteria for admissions (i.e., successfully completing the Qualifying Examination) is fulfilled.

Ques: I have secured a merit ranking in WBJEE. Does that guarantee me admission to the institute and program of my choice?

Ans: Securing a WBJEE Rank does not entitle a candidate to guaranteed admission into an institute or program of choice. The candidate has to satisfy the norms and standards as specified by the participating institutes.

Ques: What is the expected WBJEE Cut off 2023?

Ans: WBJEE 2023 Cut Off will be available along with the Results at the official website wbjeeb.nic.in. For now, a trend can be estimated by checking the cut off scores of top participating institutes of WBJEE:

Ques: What is the WBJEE seat matrix?

Ans: Course-wise and institute-wise availability of seats as provided by the participating institutes is termed as WBJEE seat matrix and is published before e-counselling and seat allotment. Based on seat matrix, the final seat allotment is done through WBJEE e-counselling.

Ques: Will the Board inform us about the counselling session of WBJEE?

Ans: The Board will issue a separate notification with the details regarding e-counselling, seat allotment and subsequent admission on the official website – wbjeeb.nic.in soon after the publication of WBJEE Result. No individual emails will be forwarded to candidates.
