Most of the top law colleges in Punjab admit students based on of their scores in top law exams like the CLAT, LSAT, LPUNEST, and PU LLB.

• Colleges release cutoff scores to admit students for different law courses like LLB and LLM.
• The LLB cutoff at Rajiv Gandhi National University was 578-805 for General category students.
• For home-state students, the cutoff accepted was 684-1361.

Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Patiala

The university was founded in 2006, by the government of Punjab Division, with the vision to serve the nation by creating excellent lawyers, administrators, judicial officers, and inquisitive researchers. The institute campus is spread across 50 Acres, having a Library Building, Sports Complex, Auditorium, Girl's and Boy's Hostels, Guest House, Health Centre, Community Hall, Stadium, Residences, and Academic-cum-Administrative Block.

• The institute offers undergraduate, postgraduate, Ph.D., and LLD degree courses.
• These courses are offered in 4 streams, namely Constitutional Law, Business Law, International Law, and Criminal  Law.
• The institute is also a part of many professional organizations like the Commonwealth Legal Education Association (CLEA), Asian Law Institute (ASLI),  Forum of South Asian Clinical Law Teachers (FSACLCTL), etc.

Undergraduate Program

The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law offers a BA LLB (Hons) integrated program of five-year duration. During the first three years, students study law subjects along with English, Economics, History, Sociology, and Political Science. From the fourth year onwards, students select one of the specializations among Constitutional Law, Business Law, International Law, and Criminal Law.

The institute offers an LLM degree program of 1-year duration in Constitutional Law, Business Law, International Law, and Criminal Law.

The Army Institute of Law was founded by the Indian Army in July 1999 initially in Patiala. Later on, it was shifted to Mohali on December 1, 2003, where it was inaugurated by the then President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.

The Guru Nanak Dev University was founded on the 500th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji on November 24, 1969. The institute is accredited “A+” grade by NAAC and UGC has given it the status of “University With Potential for Excellence”.
