    The Royal Academy of Art is one of the oldest institutions in the world. The academy enrols 65% international students making it stand tall amongst the top art institutions of the Netherlands. Undergraduate, graduate and doctorate and joint degrees are offered in different areas of arts.

    The academy offers its courses in English medium making it easier for international students to study in the Netherlands. An online application, ELP scores, transcripts are general admission requirements along with a portfolio showcasing the understanding of the art, incoming students want to excel in through higher studies.

    Royal academy of Arts offers programs in preparatory courses also in case the applicant is not able to satisfactorily perform in the entrance tests.The doctorate degrees are offered in collaboration with Leiden University.     The admission of 2021-22 are already closed and 2022-23 will be starting from October 1 and the deadlines will be mentioned when the admission procedure starts.

    There are set procedures to take admission to the courses offering bachelors at Royal academy of Arts. All the Admissions takes place via Studielink, it is a common link for all the private institutions of the Netherlands.

    The academy requires english language test scores to be submitted by June 13 and applicants need to keep in mind that they submit valid scores as these test scores expire in two year’s time.

    Student Visa for Netherlands 

    After securing admission, the required documents students need to apply for a study visa for the Netherlands. The requirements to apply or the visa re as follows:

    • Copy of a valid national passport
    • Copy of academic transcripts
    • Acceptance letter from the academy
    • Evidence of funds availability
    • English language proficiency test scores
    • Any other relevant documents

    An application with the requisite fee needs to be made to the embassy. It requires a processing time of approximately 5-6 weeks after which you will be called for granting of visa.

    The Royal Academy accommodates 820 students and offers workshops in the areas like Alternative Photography, Printmaking Techniques Workshop, Textile & Fashion Workshop, Metal Workshop for the students to give hands-on experience also. The Academy also provides internships as a curriculum for the full-time students to get experience before graduating and has provided several successful artists, photographers, and architects.
