The AUT tea

It provides me with the best foundation and skills in the field of media and communications. AUT is a progressive place, always improving and accommodating to students in new ways that make studying less of a chore. It was the best choice all round.

Course Curriculum :

Very rewarding and interesting. The actual content throughout was great, it gave me a really well-rounded foundation for many different types of media/communication jobs. We mainly studied Radio, advertising, PR, journalism and television. I majored in advertising creativity and it was fantastic. Enjoyed every bit.

Exams :

A bachelors degree consisting of level 6,7 and 8 papers and exams. Scoring system was the ABCD system, I ranked at a B average, progressing to more of a B+ later in the degree.

Placement :

The tutors have many networks that they are always willing to use to help you set up a job or a possible long term internship. It?s up to you to apply and go for the job you want, but the tutors out in a good word with the workplace that make it that much easier to land something

Internship :

Yes it does for most people, I had the opportunity to go into an advertising agency with my creative partner and it was the most useful experience. It taught me things that you just can?t learn in the classroom.

Events :

we celebrate the usual holiday times; Easter, valentines etc. but we also celebrated other cultural holidays like Delawi, LGBTQI pride day, Chinese New Year etc. It was a great thing to be part of because of the acceptance across a multitude of cultures and interests.

Fees :

Fees was through student loan, plus a student allowance that you can apply for which is $220 a week that needs to be paid back as well.

Examination Structure :

In my course /major I didn't have any exams, we just had portfolios to hand in during the mid-semester and the end of the semester. They were large pieces of work that represented the work throughout the year.

Faculty :

Really great, my tutors and mentors have been incredibly helpful and have brought out the best in me. They are full on inspiration and worldly knowledge that makes them very inpsiring to me.

Hostel :

I was in the AUT halls/flats for first year and then moved into a flat for two years. The halls was a fantastic experience where I met a lot of new people and made a lot of new friends. It was a great way to connect with people who are going to be in some of my classes and who I?ll be seeing around campus.
