AISECT University: ‘Samarth’ Campaign Launched to Support Atma Nirbhar Bharat Initiative; Check Details Here


October 16, 2020: The AISECT Group of Universities launched the "Samarth" campaign in its 5 affiliated universities to support the Atmanirhbar Bharat Initiative of Government. 

As a part of the Samarth Campaign, the AISECT Group of Universities will appoint an Atma Nirbhar Bharat Executive in the university. The executive will be appointed from the university's Science or Engineering Department.

In accordance with the “Samarth” Campaign, the Atal Incubation Centre at the Rabindranath Tagore University (AIC-RNTU) has established an Atma Nirbhar Bharat Cell. 

The cell will advertise and promote entrepreneurship and innovation in India and is responsible to help sustainable and profitable business models.

AISECT University ‘Samarth’ Campaign: Main Aim and Objectives

AISECT University’s “Samarth” Campaign’s main aim is to support students who wish to start an enterprise with their unique ideas and skills. 

Students of AISECT Group of Universities will become familiar with the Government Atma Nirbhar Campaign and its benefits with the help of the ‘Samarth’ Campaign.

The chancellor of AISECT Group of Universities, Mr. Santosh Kumar said, "All the universities under the AISECT Group of Universities will execute the Samarth campaign in their respective regions under the supervision of AIC-RNTU".

"The universities will offer entrepreneurship training as well as to conduct start-up competitions and boot camps for their students. This will result in more start-ups being launched by the students of our universities, for which the universities will also offer guidance and support during the incubation stage.” he further added.

AISECT University ‘Samarth’ Campaign: Roles of Atma Nirbhar Bharat Executive

Under AISECT University’s ‘Samarth’ Campaign, universities will appoint an Atma Nirbhar Bharat Executive in their university from the Science or Engineering Department. The Executive appointed will be further responsible for setting up the Source Center. 

The Source center will have the necessary materials, projects, and profile information related to the Atma Nirbhar Bharat Initiative. The information will be further provided to local communities. 

Further, the source center materials and information will be available for different universities and colleges. The source centers established by the Atma Nirbhar Executive will also work as a consultancy center for different local MSMEs and Industries in the near future. 

In reference to AISECT University ‘Samarth’ campaign, the AISECT Chancellor said, "The Universities will modify their syllabus in line with the New Education Policy 2020. We will also establish skill development centers in local communities and launch B.Voc. and other relevant program programs skills in demand in the respective region".

He further added in his statement that the representatives from different universities will interact with various groups in their regions. Certain groups will include Sarpanches, farmers, MSMEs, students, and teachers. 

To understand the needs and update the centers about the benefits and schemes of the Atma Nirbhar Bharat initiative, the Skill development centers will be a big help.

"Another important task of the universities will be to assist in the launch and promotion of small and cottage industries in their respective districts. We will also organize Atma Nirbhar Bharat Yatras in the nearby clusters to spread mass awareness about the initiative" Santosh Kumar Choubey, the Chancellor of AISECT Group of Universities added.

AISECT University ‘Samarth’ Campaign to Set up “Vikas Mitra” to Help Enterprises 

Under the Samarth Campaign, the university will also set up a student head under the "Vikas Mirta" title. The student body will consist of a total of 11 to 21 students in each university of AISECT. 

The main aim behind Vikas Mitra is to conduct well-researched surveys on policies and ideas related to micro and small business and enterprises in the region. 

The student body under "Vikas Mitra" will also take care of documentation work. Required statistics and interactions will be made available to the student body. 

The district will help the students in administrative work and will provide them with a well-researched work plan. Under the plan provided, upgrades in skilling programs in selected areas will be done.
