APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University Postpones B.Tech Exams Scheduled on July 1


APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University has decided to postpone all the examinations scheduled from July 1, 2020. The decision is taken following the widespread protests and requests from the students, parents, and political leaders.

KTU B.Tech Hons. exams commenced on June 26, 2020and the final semester engineering exams were scheduled to start from Ju;y 1, 2020. However, now the varsity has decided not to hold the exams.

Earlier the authorities were adamant to place all the precautionary arrangements adhering to the COVID-19 norms and refused to entertain the demand for postponement of exam dates.

The students who find it difficult to appear for the examinations, a second chance will be given to them in the month of October, the authorities said earlier. According to the varsity, the decision to conduct final semester exams was taken due to the placement offers received by the students from the employers through the campus recruitment drive.

Shashi Tharoor state MP was among those who appealed to the state government and the concerned universities to scrap the conduction of examinations during the COVID-19 crisis.

MS Rajasree, KTU Vice-Chancellor said that the academic committee would take the final decision on when to conduct the examinations.
