Banaras Hindu University Forms Committee to Implement Startup Policy 


The Banaras Hindu University (BHU) will be implementing a new National Innovation and Startup policy- 2019 introduced by the Union Ministry of Education.

A 21 member committee has been formed for the same which is headed by the Banaras Hindu University VC Rakesh Bhatnagar and comprises academicians, entrepreneurs, experts of multiple fields, students, and alumni as well.

The Union Ministry of Education has come up with the national innovation and startup policy for higher education institutions to promote entrepreneurial approach across the country to improvise the global innovation index ranking, said Committee's Vice Chairman S.Sri Krishna.

Committee's Convenor Dr. Manish Arora disclosed that the Design Innovation Centre was established in 2015 and Atal Incubation Centre got established in 2018. Initially, the policy related to innovation and startup was introduced in 2016, now this policy is the upgraded form of the former one.

Meanwhile, BHU is making all the efforts to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic and thus has allowed free OPD registration for students at the University hospital for treatment after facing protests from the students.
