What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

“I make sure to motivate other and instill confidence in them to utilise their potential”

My leadership philosophy is to serve others from my position of strength and become a role model to empower and enable individual growth and development. My approach is participative and consensus-building by fostering a culture of shared leadership in a collegial atmosphere, where everyone is charged-up to utilize their full potential. 

Optimization of ample resources, leveraging the latest technology, processes and systems to ensure that competencies stakeholders’ desire are built in the graduates and the faculty.”

How does the curriculum of CMS Business School ensure the best practice of industry?

“The course is designed keeping in mind the current trends and industry standards”

My role is to ensure that CMS Business School, Jain (Deemed to be University), nurtures human capital through excellence in Management Education, Research & Entrepreneurial Development. It reflects the diversity of students and faculty fairly representative of gender, geographies, educational background, religion, nationality and work experience. CMS Business School is an inclusive and socially diverse learning community. I need to assure stakeholders that the competencies built-in our graduates and faculty are utilized for organization and nation-building.

What do you see as the Dean, CMS’s greatest strengths?

Our strengths include our program offerings, our faculty with equivalent experience in industry and academia, the ability to create value by supporting entrepreneurs; our most relevant curriculum.CMS Business School has been ranked top 41st in all India and 16th in South Zone by 'Outlook - ICARE MBA Rankings - 2019' Research Survey. We have secured a Rank Band 76-100 from National Institute of Ranking Framework -2019, Ministry of HRD, Government of India and it has also been awarded 'A* ' Grade in Karnataka by CRISIL. 


What are some of the biggest challenges you see, both for higher education in general and for CMS Business School?

“The industry-Institute interface needs more willpower than word power”

There is a need to make teaching a lucrative profession and bring accountability and transparency in the performance of faculty in universities and colleges. Accessibility to funds for research, consultancy and training for self-financed institutes need to be available based on merit and potential.


Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

“Students should be self-motivated to achieve the dreams by making use of our launchpad”

Students must realize that learners are not “taught” they need to become “motivated” to seek answers, knowledge, skills and behaviours to meet their goals and aspirations. Institutes like ours are only instruments and catalysts to achieve those aspirations.
