It is rightly said that “people will stare, make it worth their while.” This saying has been made true at GD Goenka University by the students of School of Fashion and Design. The University organised its fashion show on April 7, 2019, at Delhi Times Fashion Week held at Roseate House, Aerocity, New Delhi. They showcased ten collections designed by the senior students of the school worn by graduating students. The audience was packed with fashionistas, industry representatives, special invitees, fashion journalists, bloggers, parents of graduating students as well as faculty of the school and the management of the university. Everyone present at the moment appreciated the show with outstanding energy and gave positive feedback.

GD Goenka University has partnered with Times Fashion Week to provide a professional platform for the students to kick-start their career as fashion designers and professionals. The first edition of GD Goenka Collettivo, as the show is known, was held in January 2018 and this is the second time that such an event is being organised.

“We believe in giving our students the best opportunities offered by the industry in order to promote them as professionals,'' said Mr Nipun Goenka, MD, GD Goenka Group. “Students are encouraged to create works that are at par with industry standards,'' said Prof Sasi Gopal Menon, Dean of the school. The partnership is expected to continue in the future and will provide the best opportunity for students of fashion design to show their work alongside eminent professionals and known names in the industry.

The school has remained in news various times before for their curriculum practices. Their motive is to provide world-class education to build a generation of fashion designers who will be capable of providing the best service in the fashion industry. GD Goenka University is a proud institution to provide such a platform to their students.
