What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“Education sector gives a platform to learn throughout your life”

One of the most important factors is the interest and desire to serve the community through knowledge. Development of the nation is only possible when people of it are well educated with ethical and moral values. This sector gives you a platform to mould the students and guide them setting the role model to imbibe patriotism, honesty, and simplicity.

What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

“Be transparent and impartial”

My philosophy of leadership is that at first be the role model. I believe to be the role and example setter for the staff and students. I never hesitate in doing any kind of task, designation never collides with the nature of tasks. I always take the lead role in any challenging task. I never use dictating statements. I always act as a motivator and help students in conducting Research & Development activities.

How do you strategize about the key programs and plans for the marketing and administration of your college?

“Teaching practices is our marketing strategy, students are our ambassadors”

To make the things more effective and transparent, we design academic calendar, curricular and co-curricular activities calendar before the beginning of each session. Sessional policies and assessment policies are shared to students in advance so that they can prepare according to their convenience. We make the plans and include motivational speeches, technical talks, industrial visits, sports day, quizzes, seminars, and conferences etc. for the overall development of students. It is ensured that parents get regular feedback on academic performance and attendance of their wards. Besides this, hosting activities under the banner of college, promoting and sending our students to participate in other organizations also contributes to marketing.

“Taking their merit into consideration and not their background”

A separate scholarship cell is established to guide and assist to avail all scholarship schemes proposed by state/central government from time to time. Besides this, LNCT itself gives internal scholarship to meritorious students in their tuition fee.

“To convert students into responsible citizens with problem-solving skills”

As a leader, my responsibilities include:

  • To ensure smooth functioning of the college and provide umbrella shelter to staff and students
  • Set educational standards & goals, developing educational quality management systems
  • Establishing policies and procedures to carry them out

As per the need of the current scenario, taking measures to enhance the communication and soft skill of students is important.

What do you think should be the University’s top priority over the next 10 years?

“The top priority is to set the standards high”

We want to achieve the greatest level of excellence so that we are the first choice for students. We wish to extend our existing innovation cell that will be available to students from the country. Testing laboratories are to be set up in the college premises where industry products can be tested to check the standards.

What would you like people to know about your university they may not know?

“Being the best in its kind”

LNCT is the first private college of Central India established in 1993. LNCT Group of colleges is not only offering education in Engineering in different streams but also in Computer Applications, Management, Pharmacy, Agriculture, Dental and Medical colleges in different cities of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. MCA was added in the group in 1998. We have a mentor programme in which faculties act as friend/guardian to students and each student is focused. MOOCs courses are added in the curriculum.

What are some of the biggest challenges you see, both for higher education in general and for LNCT-MCA specifically?

“Preparing the students for placement in the truest sense”

Due to a large number of colleges, many seats remain vacant in a few colleges and some of the students seeking admission are also weak. This creates a problem in arranging placements and we have to work extra hard to make them competent. We are getting mixed students from urban and rural areas. Students belonging to rural areas face communication skill and soft skill problems and they require extra endeavour to bring them at par.
