Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Kumar Dubey has 29 years of varied experience as Vice-Chancellor, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Dean, Professor, and Head at various educational establishments of SVN Group of Colleges. A young dynamic burgeoning personality; Dr. Dubey nourished his interest, accumulated his expertise, and keenly involved himself in research in the fields of Digital Communication & Wireless Communication.


What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“Having an opportunity to contribute towards the future of the youth to develop the Nation”

Education is a fantastic profession that keeps you young and learner throughout your life. I enjoyed this profession at all levels of my carrier. I had worked in various positions, as a teacher, and as an administrator. In this profession, one can learn with every new student, I felt very contented, as we can contribute toward the growth and future of the students. As result, we play a very important role in Nation building. 


What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

“Unbiased and transparent leadership for smooth management”

As a Leader, you required two very important qualities that are to be impartial and transparent. One should own the responsibility of your institution and accordingly, you carefully select your team members who are ready to own the system. I always assume that all members of my team can handle their responsibility very well and keep my faith in their capabilities. I try to create an environment that supports everyone around us so that they can deliver their best. I assure them if you have done any mistake or failure; I take responsibility for it and assure to give credit to individual members when it is a success. 


The education systems in India and other foreign countries are structured very differently. In your experience, what can an inbound student gain from studying here in your institute/ university/ school?

“Student-centric for the best international exposure in the institute”

At SVNU, we are having a “Student-Centric” approach along with a flexible approach. To fulfill the required Institute-Industry gap. We, aggressively working on project-based, learning, and having a strong tie up with the surrounding Industry for Institute-Industry Interface. We also trained students with moral values, character building, and personality development.

We have a culturally diverse environment at our campus as we have students from all over India and Union Territories. On our campus, students will experience the complete diverse culture.

How does the curriculum of Swami Vivekanand University, Sagar, ensure the best practice of industry?

“Association to several industries for experiential learning and practical knowledge”

Being an Autonomous Institute, we regularly revise our course curriculum on the advice of a board of studies having experienced members from academia and industry. We value their feedback and try to incorporate their suggestions into our curriculum to fulfill the gap between Institute and Industry as a result we able to produce industry ready manpower. Moreover, our focus is more on project based learning and continuous evaluation. We incorporated communication skills, professional English, and aptitude building courses in each semester for better overall grooming of the students. 


What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the Institute and the students are?

“The value of time management and providing foremost facilities to the students”

A most important factor for the students is time management so that they can take care of themselves and work in the direction of overall personality development. Institute will play its role as a facilitator and extend its support for the betterment of the students which helps in fulfilling their dreams. Institute should work in the direction of overall grooming of the student so that he will able to face challenges of the modern world. Institute's responsibility is to give maximum benefit from available resources to the students. 


What do you think should be the Institute’s top priority over the next 10 years?

“To build a reputation of the institute for more access to the education for the youth of the Nation”

As per the New Education Policy, their focus is toward autonomy in higher education and skill development. We are already moving on the same track, SVNU becomes an autonomous institute from UGC in the year 2012. We are working on developing digital content, which is the future of learning. We will work more closely with the industry to fulfill the gap between Academia and Industry. The institute will provide opportunities to the students for the Local Bundelkhand region for their carrier advancement and step up with world-level education.


When you first came to SVN University, what was your vision for the university? Has it evolved, and how far along in implementing that vision is you?

“Evolution by associating to international universities for overseas exposure”

Our vision from the inception of the SVN University is to evolve it, internationally as academics with its research work and for exposure to the students. As execution In the year 2009, joined this Institute as a Professor and Head in Electronics and Communication Engineering department. In the year 2012 joined as a Professor at Swami Vivekanand University, Sagar and contributed to the development and growth of a conducive learning environment, enhancing academic and administrative efficacy, fostering excellence in research, institution building, encouraging facilitation of higher education resulting in tie-ups and signing up of MOUs with International Technological Universities. 


What are your learning’s from the pandemic and how are you dealing with the situation?

Accepting the scenario to make it the new normal for nonstop growth”

Every challenge gives new opportunities with this challenge covid-19 pandemic given sufficient time to everyone for learning new things and shifting to digital mode. Further how we can use optimally the available resources. We are imparting teaching to our students through digital mode and faculty is delivering their contents through videos, PPTs, and live teaching through a digital platform like Zoom and Google meet App. This mode of teaching is the future as we are getting very good results in class attendance and their performance.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

“Believe in your passion and hard work for the best outcomes in your career”

There are no shortcuts in life, to be successful you need to do hard work, believe in yourself, and go for what you feel in yourself and accordingly choose your career path. Don’t follow others as it is rather make your selections and way. Along with learning life skills and maintain your good health.
