The main objective of the Moot Court Competition is to promote global legal professionals who have a passion to pursue the legal profession with an intent to do social justice and excel in the field. The 3 days program was inaugurated today by Sri Rao Raghunandan Rao – Hon’ble justice of High Court of Andhra Pradesh, Sri K. Lakshman - Hon’ble justice of High court of Telangana. The significance of Competition law in the emerging legal field will be underscored by the moot court competition. Its fundamental purpose is to prevent companies from engaging in activities that distort the competitive process and undermine fair procedures. Robust enforcement of Competition law is a necessary condition for maintaining a fair economic environment and ensuring that business dealings comply with the principles of fair competition, avoiding any misrepresentation of the market

Speaking on the occasion Sri Rao Raghunandan Rao – Hon’ble justice of High court of Andhra Pradesh, said Moot courts teach the art of advocacy. Moot courts enhance the ability to convince the judge in an effective way. Law graduates must also be tech savvy with changing trends in the domain of law. Precision is the true hall mark of the advocate. When he understands the case well he wiil be able to put the facts precisely and present it before the judge. Advocates must try to get empathy of the judge and it is possible when you present the facts well before the court. 

K. Lakshman - Hon’ble justice of High court of Telangana said Practising law is one of the noble professions, one must do it with utmost dedication to do the justice. It is a flexible profession but highly competitive field. you carve out a niche for yourself with sincerity and hard work. You must try and understand the fundamental principles of law he said

Highlighting the importance of Moot Court competition Dr.S.V. Kota Reddy – Vice Chancellor – VIT-AP University said, It helps fine tune the law students advocacy skills and improve their confidence before they appear in the court during the hearing on behalf of their clients problems. students will get a chance to analyse legal topics and learn to know more insights on it. As the Students work in teams in the competition the group discussion on the legal topics make them well rounded on the subject matters.

Dr. Benarji Chakka, Dean, VIT-AP school of law during his inaugural address said that a moot court is a miniature version of a real courtroom where legal processes and trials are held. It is also known as a Mock Court, in which law students act as professionals and assume all the responsibilities and duties assigned to them to demonstrate their ability to think creatively, answer convincingly when questioned, and demonstrate their oratory, writing, and persuasive skills. 


School of advanced sciences of VIT-AP signs MoU with State University of New York (SUNY), Binghamton, USA

Amaravati / Vijayawada / Guntur 9th Feb 2023: VIT-AP University, Amaravati entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Data Science program with the State University of New York (SUNY), Binghamton, USA on February 8th. The B.Sc.-M.Sc. dual-degree and M.Sc. programme in Data Science is offering by the School of Advanced Sciences, at VIT-AP University, and the MoU will facilitate various academic pathways for VIT-AP students to the System Science programme at SUNY, Binghamton, USA.

On the occasion of MoU signing, Prof. Madhusudhan Govindaraju, Professor of Computer Science and Vice Provost of International Education and Global Affairs, SUNY, Binghamton visited VIT-AP University on February 8th and 9th. The Vice Chancellor, Dr. S. V. Kota Reddy, the Registrar Dr. Jagadish Chandra Mudiganti, and the Dean of the School of Advanced Sciences, Dr. Santanu Mandal were the signatories of the agreement from VIT-AP University. 

Speaking on the occasion Dr. S. V. Kota Reddy, Vice-Chancellor of VIT-AP University highlighted the importance of MoU with State University of New York (SUNY), Binghamton, USA and informed the students that the agreement and collaboration will enhance visibility and opportunities to the students of School of advanced Sciences VIT-AP and other schools in the university. He also highlighted that the university is committed to establish Centres of Excellence in various subjects of SAS, which includes Data Sciences, Physics, Chemistry, Applied Mathematics, Statistics etc.

The academic collaboration with State University of New York (SUNY), Binghamton, USA would help students to equip with the opportunity to study one semester or one year at the University of SUNY and enhance their skills with the help of expert professors and faculty members of the SUNY University. 

This MoU will also facilitate research collaborations between faculty members of VIT-AP University and University of SUNY. It will give an opportunity to have knowledge partnership, organise guest lectures, workshops, symposiums, seminars, and International conferences in the current fields of advance sciences.

Dr. S.V. Kota Reddy Vice Chancellor felicitated Sudhanshu on his International Offer achievement. On this occasion, Sudhanshu thanked VIT-AP Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, Deputy Director Career Development Centre and his professors for their constant support tireless efforts and guidance to achieve this international offer. Dr. SV Kota Reddy, Vice-Chancellor stated “We are delighted that once again the top companies of the country and the MNCs have reposed their faith in our students. The hard work put in by our students and the quality education imparted by the university is reflected in these placement results. In the years to come, we will continue to strengthen our engagement with the industry and ensure that we continue to create socially conscious responsible leaders that help to make this world a better place.” As of 24th March, 2022 a total of 627 students were placed against 1175 total offers including 246 super dream offers, 354 dream offers. The highest package offered at VIT-AP increased to Rs 63 LPA as compared to last year’s INR 20 LPA. and the average salary of the batch went up to Rs 7.3 LPA from 6.77 LPA (Lakhs per Annum).

Dr.G. Viswanathan, Founder and Chancellor, VIT in his remarks VIT Chancellor Dr G. AISP’22 -Second International Conference is being organized by the School of Electronics Engineering, VIT-AP university in Coordination with IEEE Guntur Subsection and Technical Co-sponsored by IEEE Hyderabad section inaugurated by Chief guest Srinivas Lingam, Vice President, Data Center and AI Group, Intel Corporation in presence of Guest of Honour Prof. Tokunbo Ogunfunmi from Santa Clara University, USA held virtually during morning hours, Saturday, 12th February 2022.

Srinivas Lingam, Vice President, Data Center and AI Group, Intel Corporation during inaugural address told that the focus of this forum is to present the latest developments in the area of Artificial Intelligence and Signal Processing and bring together the researchers and practitioners, from both academia and industry.

Prof. Tokunbo Ogunfunmi from Santa Clara University, USA during his address said that the conference is also intended to publish visionary papers with unique, and novel contributions so that the innovations in this aspect are further accelerated. Papers are based on advances in the theory, design, implementation, analysis, and verification, or empirical evaluation, applications of AI and Signal Processing in the design and development of State-of-Art technology.

Dr. S.V. Kota Reddy, Vice Chancellor, VIT-AP said that this AISP second international conference starts on 12th February and ends on 14th February 2022. More than 500 research papers were submitted out of which only 120 papers were accepted for presentation. However, 110 papers have been registered to be presented in 15 different sessions throughout these three days of the conference. The researchers including academicians and industry persons are taking part from 25 states of India and 12 different countries viz., China, Taiwan, Ethiopia, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, USA, OMAN, Portugal, UAE, Bangladesh, Morocco. Several distinguished speakers from reputed Universities throughout the world will deliver keynote lectures. One workshop will also be organized by National Instruments. The presented papers at this conference will be published in the IEEE XPLORE database. SERB, GOI has also sponsored this event.

Three-day workshop on Advances in Applied Mathematics and Computational Methods (AAMCM)

Department of Mathematics, VIT-AP University conducted a three-day online workshop on Advances in Applied Mathematics and Computational Methods. at VIT AP University, Amaravati from 7th Jan.- 9th Jan2021. 

During his address Prof S Srinivas, Dept. of Mathematics emphasized how computational methods are important in solving real-world problems. There were 13 invited talks by speakers from reputed institutes and industries. The workshop was enriched with their valuable insights and contributions. 260 participants, across the country, and a few from foreign-registered for this workshop.

This workshop will provide a prominent platform for researchers interested in pursuing problems in the field of applied mathematics and help address real-world problems. This workshop also draws focus and introduces modern mathematical software packages like MATLAB, MATHEMATICA and PYTHON that are essential in addressing the computational challenges arising in solving mathematical models.

On the Legal Services Day, the AP High Court Legal Services Committee Launches Mission Legal Service Program on November 9, 2021. As part of this program, VIT-AP School of Law (VSL) is selected by the AP High Court to join the mission legal services and render their services to create Legal Awareness in the villages Velagapudi, Sakamuru and Inavolu identified and adopted by the VIT-AP University. 

On November 12, 2021 The program was started at two of the three adopted villages of VIT-AP University i.e. Sakamuru & Velagapudi and the legal aid clinics were inaugurated by Sri. B. Seshaiah, Senior Civil Judge, Mangalagiri and Chairperson Mandal Legal Services Authority and participated by Dr. Chakka Benarji, Dean VIT-AP School of Law, Prof. M. Mahathi Faculty Coordinator of the VIT-AP School of Law Legal Aid Centre and Students. The program also witnessed the presence of. While inaugurating the program the Mission Legal Service Secretary informed the participants about the importance of creating legal awareness to provide access to justice to the needy people. Further, she highlighted the role of students, lawyers, judges, social workers, district and mandal authorities to make villages as dispute and litigation-free model villages. He directed and encouraged the students to participate actively to create legal awareness among the common citizens of the country. 

The program witnessed participation by the local people, mandal officials, Police officers and other village revenue officials and students of VIT-AP School of Law.B. Seshaiah, Senior Civil Judge, Mangalagiri and Chairperson Mandal Legal Services Authority inaugurates Legal Aid clinics at Velagapudi & Sakamuru.

As of 30th Oct. 2021, a total of 535 students were placed against 917 total offers including 193 super dream offers, 219 dream offers. The highest domestic package offered at VIT-AP increased by 166.45% to Rs 33.29 LPA as compared to last year’s Rs 20 LPA. and the average salary of the batch went up to Rs 6.77 LPA from 6.28 LPA (Lakhs per Annum). More than 121 recruiters participated in the VIT Placements 2020-21 including core companies Viz. intel, Xilinx, Robert Bosch, ALSTOM. IT companies VISA, Microsoft, Walmart, Adobe, Amazon, JP Morgan Chase & Co, SAP Labs, Goldman Sachs, Phillips, IBM, Commvault, DELOITTE, Pharmeasy. PEPSICO Global Business Services, VM ware, etc.

VIT-AP conducting ICCIDE-2021 International Conference

The Two-day International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Data Engineering (ICCIDE-2021) organized by the School of Computer Science and Engineering was inaugurated on 13-Aug-2021 at VIT-AP University, Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh in virtual mode. Dr. Prem Prakash Jayaraman, Head, Digital Innovation Lab; Professor, CSSE, Swinburne University, Australia was the chief guest, Dr. Krishna Thiagarajan, Senior Vice President and Global Head - Analytics, Insights & Data, Virtusa was the Guest of honor and Dr. G. Viswanathan, Founder and Chancellor, VIT presided the Inaugural function. The chief guest and guest of the session shared their knowledge, experiences, research observations and the challenges related to data engineering, IoT, privacy and security-related issues in computational intelligence. Dr. G. Viswanathan said that this conference is a forum for presenting, exchanging ideas and results of high-quality research work in cutting-edge technologies and most happening research areas of computational intelligence and data engineering. Irrespective of online or offline, the quality of education is the highest priority in VIT and this was once again proved with various international rankings, placements, and student achievements on several platforms across the world even when we are depressed and dejected during this pandemic.. Along with the guests Dr. S.V. Dr. Nagaraju Devarakonda, Convenor of this conference is overwhelmed with the response received from international authors and shared that the conference received 482 papers from 19 countries. The proceedings of the paper will be published in the Lecture Notes on Data Engineering and Communications Technologies (LNDECT) series of Springer publishers indexed by Scopus and Web of Science. 


VIT – AP donates Rs.50 Lakhs to AP CM Relief Fund

VIT Founder Chancellor Dr. G. Viswanathan met with Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and handed over Rs.50,00,000/-  Demand Draft towards AP CHIEF MINISTER’s RELIEF FUND in order to support the efforts of Andhrapradesh Government in the fight against Covid. Initially VIT-AP donated 25 lakhs on 30th March 2020 into fight against COVID-19 pandemic in Andhrapradesh.

Signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the VIT-AP School of Law (VSL), VIT-AP University and Wordict-IP was held virtually by VIT-AP University on July 22, 2021.

Dr. S. V. Kota Reddy, Vice-Chancellor of VIT-AP University signed the MoU and addressed the gathering. During his address highlighted that the University has committed to establishing Centres of Excellence in Intellectual Property, New Emerging Technologies and Law and other centres of excellence to encourage the clinical, research and practical application of law to the future legal professionals. He further added that the centres of excellence will work holistically to provide suitable solutions to society and to provide legal empowerment to the people. The academic collaboration with Wordict-IP would help students to equip industry and practice-ready in the areas of Intellectual Property Law which includes, copyrights, trademarks, patents and geographical indication Filings. It will also facilitate research collaborations, student mentoring (including training students to prepare for IP Moot court competitions), knowledge partnership, internships (Virtual and Physical), guest lectures, workshops, symposiums, seminars, and IP awareness programmes.

Dr. S V Kota Reddy, Vice-Chancellor, VIT–AP University after signing the MoU with MKCI, said that this collaboration will help faculty and students to get an opportunity to conduct advanced level collaborative research in Sciences and Technologies and they can get enough scope to involve themselves in different career development activities. Moreover, this collaboration may bring excellent research projects and industrial consultancy. VIT-AP School of Law Celebrates  World Refugee Day

World Refugee Day celebrated at VIT-AP School of Law. The event organized on 21st June 2021 jointly the VIT-AP School of Law, VIT-AP University, Andhra Pradesh, Centre for Statelessness and Refugee Studies, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai along with United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, India

The event is organised to remind us towards the protection of refugees and statelessness. Globally refugee crisis is on the rise due to protracted conflicts and violations of human rights leading to enormous displacement and forced migration scenario. The Global Compact on Refugees (GCR) has following broad four objectives: (i) ease pressures on host countries; (ii) enhance refugee self-reliance; (iii) expand access to third country solutions; and (iv) support conditions in countries of origin for return in safety and dignity, with relevant indicators framework. Are the objectives specified in GCR, recast of earlier durable solutions? Or do they have new meaning in text and context is to be discussed in the proposed National Webinar on 21 June 2021 as part of World Refugee day celebrations. How India has adopted GCR in its law and policies vis-à-vis notions of protection, inclusion and care and how it addresses the WRD theme 'Together We Heal, Learn and Shine'.

The daylong national webinar deliberated upon the importance of Global Compact on Refugees and reminded the state parties to be bound by the obligations of the sovereign states. Experts from academia, civil society, practitioners, refugee organizations and students have participated in the program. 

Ms. Yukiko Koyama, Senior Protection Officer, UNHCR, India stressed the relevance of Global Compact on Refugees for the protection of the Refugees and Stateless people across the world. Dr. Arvind Tiwari Dean School of Law TISS, Mumbai gave the presidential address and Prof. Samir Kumar Das, Former Vice-Chancellor of University of North Bengal delivered the keynote address on this occasion. Dr. Parivelan K.M Chairperson of Centre for Statelessness and Refugee Studies at TISS Mumbai has explained the importance of the World Refugee Day. Dr. Benarji Chakka, Dean VSL welcomes the Chief Guest, participant, students, faculty and staff to the program and chaired the session on Global Compact on Refugees and Legal and Policy issues. The inaugural session followed by national webinar on Global Compact on Refugees in fostering Laws, Policies and Practices vis-à-vis Protection and care.

During his address highlighted that the University has committed to create a Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security and Law and other centres of excellence to encourage the research and practical application of the law to future legal professionals. This academic collaboration with Alpha Partners would help students to equip industry and practice ready in the areas Corporate Law, Commercial Law, Real Estate Law, Transaction Services Law, Regulatory Services Law, Dispute Resolution, Intellectual Property Law, Labour and Employment Laws, Compliance and Regulatory Laws.

VIT-AP University celebrated its fourth University day on a colourful note virtually on 6th June 2021. Adityanath Das, Chief Secretary to Govt., Govt. of Andhrapradesh attended as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering he said that VIT stands for its quality teaching and innovative techniques to make future generations knowledgeable and competent enough to face global competition. Happy to know that in spite of the ongoing pandemic that unhindered education has been imparted to the extent that the first graduating batch of students achieved a total of 527 placements offers with 219 Super Dream and Dream offers. He also emphasised that students should come up with new ideas and to become techpreneurs with start-up companies.

World Environment Day-2021 celebrated at VIT-AP School of Law and inaugurated by Hon’ble Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel, Chairperson of National Green Tribunal. The event is organised mainly to remind us towards the protection of the ecosystem. This year the United Nations is celebrating World Environment Day by asking the countries to pledge and to protect the environment by calling "Restoration of Ecosystem" and” Reimagine, Recreate, Restore". 

Hon’ble Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel, Chairperson of National Green Tribunal appreciated and congratulated the VIT-AP School of Law, VIT-AP University for organizing this important and prestigious event virtually to remind people of protection and restoration of the ecosystem. He further calls the younger generations to stand for the protection of the ecosystem, earth system and human life along with constitutional values. He has recollected the effective contributions of Hon’ble Judges of the Supreme Court of India belonging to the state of Andhra Pradesh which includes, Justice O. Chinappa Reddy, Justice Jaganath Rao and Justice Jeevan Reddy, to the principles of environmental law. He said, Precautionary Principles, Polluter Pay Principles and even establishment of the National Green Tribunal are the primary contributions of the judges. He also recollected the judgments and contribution of the Supreme Court of India and National Green Tribunals for the protection of the ecosystem. He further said there is a huge gap in the implementation process, now it is time we must stand united and remind ourselves of the protection and restoration of Ecosystem. 

Prof. Dr. S. V. Kota Reddy, Vice-Chancellor of VIT-AP University, in his presidential address highlighted the importance of the protection of environment and mentioned the university’s contribution and steps taken for the protection of environment. He also called on the scientific community to take effective steps to protect the natural environment and for the benefit of the future generations.

VIT-AP School of Law (VSL) Board of Advisors had a meeting to deliberate on the role of VSL in the current context. The meeting was scheduled on Thursday late evening on 27th May 2021. The meeting was participated by galaxy of legal luminaries from India and Abroad

The meeting was presided by Chancellor and Founder of VIT, Dr. G. Viswanathan.  “To provide holistic legal education and to prepare the global legal professionals it is very important to instil the ethics, values, empathy and principles of social justice to be ingrained among the law students.” Unanimously echoed by the members of the Board of Advisor. Further, members appreciated the vision and progress made by the law school over the past one year and congratulated the management for taking efforts in making VSL a vibrant Law school. While speaking, Dr. PS Rao former Member of the UN International Law Commission and Legal Advisor to the Ministry of External Affairs of the Government India, teaching new generations of law students is challenge and VSL must nurture the students towards learning fundamentals of the law subjects and these fundamentals will come in help to address the growing challenges.

One Day National E-Conference on Public Health: Policy, Law and Rights perspective

In the current COVID-19 scenario, debates on Human Rights again occupy the center stage in view of enforced lockdowns. The developments which took place during lockdown challenged the human rights regime such as migrants, movements in India and their conditions. The treatment and response from the central and state governments towards the vulnerable population raised questions about right to livelihood as well as public health.
The measures to control the pandemic, including that of developing and distributing vaccines to the least developed countries and vulnerable population is raising questions of discrimination impinging on the concept of social justice. In view of the above, Electronic Journal of Social and Strategic Studies (EJSSS) together with VIT-AP School of Law are coming together to host a webinar with the objective of exploring
the concept of public health as a human rights precept.

Research Papers are invited from faculties, Lawyers, Research scholars and students on any sub thematic areas or it could be submitted on the main theme in general. Selected Quality research paper will be published in Electronic Journal of Social and Strategic Studies.

Chief Guest Ch. Dwaraka Tirumala Rao said that “9 February 2021 marks as an important day in the history of the VIT-AP School of Law (VSL), VIT-AP University and for the Centre for Human Security Studies (CHSS) by entering into MoU to work committedly for the cause national security. I am sure both the organizations would share the common values and common ideas to protect the nations from various security threats. Threats ranging from cyber security, health security, coastal security and mostly internal security to be addressed and dealt with clear policy and legal aspects. Without having clear policy and legal guidelines it is difficult for the forces to deal and provide protection to the people of this country. The VIT-AP University and CHSS should bear in mind that these challenges have to be addressed in clear and focused manner. The Chief Guest Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary to the Govt. Industries, Commerce and IT, Telangana State inaugurates VIT Hyderabad office on Monday in the presence of Ramesh Kaza, Senior MD and Country Head -IT, State Street India., Dr. Sekar Viswanathan, Vice President, VIT and Dr. S V Kota Reddy, Vice-Chancellor, VIT-AP University.  In his address the Chief guest lauded the efforts of VIT in reaching out to aspiring students and parents and fostering strong corporate relations with IT, Software and core companies in the state.

Ramesh Kaza extended his greetings to the VIT family and urged the aspiring students to make use of this office for all their queries. This endeavour of VIT shows its commitment in reaching out to aspiring young talent. This VIT Hyderabad office launched today is with the primary purpose of facilitating aspiring candidates, parents as an information centre and to corroborate, build corporate relations with IT, software and core companies.  VIT-AP had stellar placements for its first batch of B. Tech students with multiple offers for several students. Also worthy of mention is over 76 companies offered 440 placements this year as mentioned by Dr. Sekar Viswanathan, Vice President, VIT.

VIT- AP University felicitates 11 Unsung Heroes

On the occasion of 72nd Republic Day Celebrations on Tuesday, VIT- AP University felicitated APSRTC drivers B. Krishna Rao and D. Hanumantha Rao was honoured posthumously, six (6) fire services personnel, three police personnel for saving the lives of people by discharging their duties diligently. Dr. A. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, Vice Chancellor, Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University, Govt.of Andhra Pradesh unfurled the 100ft national tricolour and presented 47 academic excellence awards to the students for the 2019-’20 academic year. 15 awards to the faculty and staff winners of cultural competitions. Unsung Heroes with scroll of honour and rewards for their services. Chief Guest lauded university authorities for choosing Republic Day for felicitating Unsung Heroes in remembrance of the selfless service to humanity under University Social Responsibility. Engineering and agriculture should work together to achieve maximum production thus doubling the revenue of farmers. Research, innovation and entrepreneurship should be developed along with education. He also expressed his wish to work together in an agri-engineering area for the benefit of the farming community.

Life Saving Award:(APSRTC)

1.D. Hanumantha Rao was behind the wheel of Podili to Vijayawada special APSRTC bus on 4th November last year. He suffered from a severe heart attack. Even while sustaining cardiac pain carefully parked the bus on the road side. Then he was taken to Venkataraman hospital, Ongole and declared dead. There were 9 passengers on the bus, who would have met with a serious accident if not for D. Hanumantha Rao quick thinking even in the throes of cardiac arrest. His wife Dasari Rathnam received award and reward of Rs. 25,000/-

2.B.V. Krishna Rao, Driver on 29th November last year while driving on Tiruvuru-Vijayawada-Bhadrachalam he suffered a severe heart attack near kuntamukkala X road, Mylavaram.Then he slowly swerved the steering to his left side road margin, stopped the bus and fallen on steering. He was rushed to the nearest Govt.General Hospital, Mylavaram.The hospital staff attended and declared dead. He saved 13 passengers who are travelling in the bus by stopping the bus safely at the last breath of his life. His wife Banala Kumari received award and reward of Rs. 25,000/-

Both the drivers’ sincerity and dedication to public safety is most commendable.

Selfless Services to Humanity: (AP State Police)

1.N. Eswaraiah, PC-3601, B.V. Peta PS On 26.09.20 the nominee saved the life of Donta Pedda Ankaiah s/o Chinna Ankaiah, age 60 yrs. who was ensnared in Peethuru Vagu of Penchikalapadu village.

2.K. Ramamohan, SI25/CT, K.V. Palle PS, Chittoor On 26.11.2020, the nominee rescued and saved the lives of three persons who were stuck in a car which was floating in the flood waters near Garnimitta where the Garnimitta tank was breached due to floods.

3.V. Srinivasulu RI (Admin), Y.S.R. Kadapa District The nominees did an excellent job during Cyclone Nivar prevailing in YSR Kadapa District on 26-11-2020 and 27-11- 2020. The Buggavanka which situated nearby Kadapa city was filled with rainy water when it was full of water the four gates of Dam opened due to which, the heavy water flown to Buggavanka cannel and surrounded Houses in around 20 localities including Old Bus stand, Nagaraj pet, Ravindranagar, Tarakaramanagar, Rajivnagar, Mochampet, Habibullah street, Yanadi Colony, Dwarakanagar, Balajinagar in the town. The people who lived in the above places came out from their houses and raised to save their lives with cyclone water.  On the directions of SP KKN Anburajan IPS the R1 to R38 teams rendered into knee level water at somewhere and chest level at some places and brought the public from rainy water to safer places and saved their lives. During cyclone of Nivar they participated actively in rescue operations in the above cyclone period and they not only saved the public but also saved the lives of cattle and their efforts in rescue operational are commendable.

A total of six fire personnel rewarded with Rs. 25,000/- each for their commendable rescue services.

District Fire Officer, Naresh Kondapalli, Station Fire Officer, Shaik Ghani, leading fireman, Parampogu Kamalakar, Driver operator, Bolla Sanjay Varma firemen were exhibited excellent work in extinguishing the Fire accident took place on 10-05-2020 at Sri Sai Raghavendra Furniture works and Bhagat traders Shops Kedareswarapeta, Vijayawada. The timely action saved the property of Rs. 20,00,000/- Another Fire accident in Fire call on 11.06.2020 occurred at Reliance Shoe Mart, Chandramoulipuram, Benz Circle, Vijayawada. He displayed professional skills and his timely action is responsible for saving adjoining property of worth Crores. These are all always shown devotion of his duties and rendered excellent service to the public in times of Emergencies. All these are always found in the forefront, in fighting fires and rescuing lives with zeal, sincerity and devotion and stood for exemplary work. They done praise worthy service in Serious Fire accident occurred on 09.08.2020 in Hotel Swarna Palace which was converted as Covid-19 Care Centre, Eluru Road, Vijayawada, Krishna District as rescued 18 Covid-19 patients from the Hotel building with the help of Ropes and Ladders. Their courage and brave venture in Rescue call received good appreciation from the public as well as other line department officials.


Jobs rain at VIT-AP campus

VIT’s placements are common for all of its campuses at Vellore, Chennai, AP and Bhopal. Despite the pandemic, 7,403 job offers were rolled out by 382 companies through virtual campus recruitments across VIT campuses in the country this year. As many as 4,503 students have received multiple offers. The results were announced by G. Viswanathan, Founder and Chancellor of   VIT.

The very first batch of VIT-AP University students who will be graduating in May 2021, scored big in this placement process. The Placement season for this year began in July 2020 at VIT-AP and will continue up to May 2021. As on 21st Dec. 2020 VIT-AP first batch of graduates secured 419 job offers from 73 Companies. Many of these have secured Super Dream offers (CTC of Rs.10 lakhs and above per annum) right at the beginning of the season.

VIT-AP University student Harsh Vardhan Kushwaha, B. VIT-AP University Conducts International Conference on Applications of Fluid Dynamics (ICAFD)

VIT-AP University based in Amaravati conducting three days online International Conference in the area of Applications of Fluid Dynamics. This conference named as ICAFD-2020 which is fifth International Conference in series aims to establish a premier International forum that brings together the Scientists, Engineers and Industrial experts to present the latest achievements and innovations in the areas of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics to discuss path-breaking developments and challenges, in order to select potential directions for the future.

ICAFD 2020 invited resource persons from abroad (USA, Australia, UAE, Singapore, South Africa etc.) and reputed Universities (IIT, NIT, VIT, Central University) from India for their invited talk. 

The conference is the result of a long collaborative effort between the School of Mechanical Engineering, VIT-AP University and the Department of Mechanical Engineering Science, University of Johannesburg, South Africa. In a welcome address, Vice Chancellor Dr. S. V. Kota Reddy welcomed Founder and Chancellor Dr. G. Viswanathan, VIT University, invited speakers and all the participants from India and abroad. Dr. S.V. Kota Reddy highlighted the role of conference for intellectual growth of an individual, followed by the importance of applications and aspects of fluid dynamics influencing our daily life. 

Dr. Pankaj Tambe, Chairperson of the conference said that 175 participants are registered for the conference.  Hundreds of participants are presenting their papers. Out of this 25 participants from USA, Canada, South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Malaysia, UAE, Singapore, West Indies, Australia and the rest of the papers are from different states of India which includes IIT’s, NIT’s, Central Universities, etc. 

The conference inaugural address was given by Dr. R. Paneer Selvam, University of Arkansas, USA. He highlighted the important challenges a fluid dynamics researcher has to work in near future for the advancement of this area. Dr. G. Human Rights Day Celebration at VIT-AP School of Law (VSL)

VIT-AP School of Law (VSL) conducted an outreach programme at Zilla Parishad High School at Mandadam for their two-days celebrations of Human Rights Day. The theme of the event is Stand Up for Rights: Promotion and Protection of Human Rights.

Human Rights Day was celebrated at VIT-AP School of Law to commemorate the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) by the United Nations General Assembly on 10 December 1948. The program was co-hosted by the Centre for Human Security Studies, a Think Tank on Human Security in India, which is situated at Hyderabad. Sri. Gautam Sawang, IPS, Director General of Andhra Pradesh Police graced the occasion as a Chief Guest and addressed as“I appreciate and congratulate the VIT-AP School of Law, VIT-AP University for organizing this prestigious event virtually. Although we celebrate many international and national days, 10 December stands as an important day in the lives of every individual. It is marked as a day for promotion, protection of human rights and adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) by the United Nations. These human rights are inalienable and it is an embodiment of values. It provides guidance for the protection and promotion of human rights of every individual.

He further added that this year Human Rights Day marks an important reminder based on the current conditions, which we are experiencing with the pandemic. The United Nations states that recover better and stand up for the rights, it is important to rebuild our lives, which are affected by the pandemic. We also have National and State Human rights institutions, which are unique organizations which are set up by the government for the promotion of protection of human rights. He concluded by appraising the services rendered by the Andhra Pradesh Police for the better governance in protection of the rights of people particularly marginalized and vulnerable sections of the society. He informed the students about the usage of technology in policing while protecting the rights of people of the state of Andhra Pradesh. He also called to work with AP police in close collaboration to serve the community. 

Prof. Dr. S. V. Kota Reddy, Vice-Chancellor of VIT-AP University, in his address highlighted the university’s contribution for the empowerment and promotion of the educational rights by supporting the education of student’s education who belong to marginalized communities. He highlighted that as an educational institution we are providing the free education under STARS program by realizing our academic social responsibility. This is one holistic way of protecting the rights of marginalized students in our society. 

The Registrar of the University Dr. CLV Sivakumar welcomed the Chief Guest, dignitaries, students, faculty members and staff of the university. Dr. Ramesh Babu Kanneganti, Founder and Executive Director of Centre for Human Security Studies (CHSS) proposed a vote of thanks and expressed his willingness to have a Memorandum of Understanding with the VIT-AP School of Law as a knowledge partner and also to work with the AP Police. 


VIT Chancellor inaugurates Academic Staff College

During his address he told that VIT-AP University launched Academic Staff College (ASC) to VIT-AP University will realise the link between teacher motivation and quality of education. ASC will enhance faculty motivation skills and knowledge through systematic orientation in specific subjects, techniques and methodologies, and thereby inculcate in them the right kind of values that would in turn encourage them to take initiatives for innovative and creative work.

Dr. S.V. Kota Reddy assumes charge as VIT- AP University VC

The VIT -AP University got its new vice chancellor (VC). Dr. S. V. Kota Reddy assumed charge as VC of the university.Dr.D. Subhakar handed over the charge to the new incumbent at a simple function.  While speaking at the gathering of VIT-AP University Faculty and Staff members, he urged the faculty members to focus on innovative research and asked the staff to extend full support to achieve the quality services to students.


Dr S V Kota Reddy has a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Bombay. Before this he was the Academic President of Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Dubai Campus. He leads several disciplines on the path of excellence to ensure consistent delivery of quality education with his over 30 years of teaching, research and administrative experience in India and abroad He has been responsible for identifying and establishing student exchange programs through collaborations with various universities across the globe. 

On this occasion, he held a meeting with heads of the departments of the university, and gave directions for smooth delivery of services to the students particularly in the conduct of classes and examinations in the prevailing situation. He advised the university to strictly follow the directions of the government from time to time. Prof Jagadish Chandra Muduganti,Dean Academics, and Dr C.L.V. Sivakumar, Registrar, informed the VC about initiatives taken by the university to serve the student community better, particularly strategies followed to deliver the online classes, combating difficulties created by pandemic for physical delivery.
