MGU Bhopal organizes International Conference on Advance in Sustainable Agriculture

A two-day International Conference on ‘‘Advances in Sustainable Agriculture: Bioresources, Biotechnology and Bioeconomy” was jointly organized by Mansarovar Global University, Bhopal and the PHSS Foundation for Science & Society, Lucknow, with the support of the National Academy of Sciences, India, Bhopal Chapter. The conference was attended by nearly 200 scientists, policymakers, social scientists and scholars from India and abroad.

Inaugurating the conference, Dr. Manju Sharma, former Secretary, Dept. of Biotechnology, GoI, a Padma Bhushan awardee, said that for Indian Agriculture to be sustainable we need to take care of the soil, water, biodiversity and quality of human life. She said that how to enrich the rural economy and enhance farmer’s income should be the focal issue. The problem of hunger and malnutrition should be solved through crop diversification, improved varieties and environment-friendly methods of cultivation. Farmers deserve help in the profitable marketing of their produce. She added that greater involvement of women in science is essential, as women are more sensitive to environmental and human needs.

In his welcome address, Er. Gaurav Tiwari, Pro-Chancellor, MGU said that the Indian scientific community has a great responsibility in ensuring the food and nutritional security of the country and at the same time contributing to the welfare of the farming community. Poverty and hunger need to be alleviated at war footing.

Welcoming the delegates, Prof. Arun Kumar Pandey, Vice-Chancellor, MGU, emphasized that India has robust farming communities and traditions, but they need technological inputs for higher crop yield, control of pests and pathogens, post-harvest storage, transportation, and marketing. Molecular and biotechnological tools should also be pressed into service for achieving crop yields compared to developed countries.

The highlight of the second day of the conference was the Young Scientist Conclave, in which young scientists presented their research on molecular and biotechnological aspects of crop improvement which have the potential to revolutionize agriculture in India.


Mansarovar Global University organizes Prakram Fest

Mansarovar Global University (MGU) recently organized a two-day fest ‘Prakram’ at its sports ground. The event was inaugurated by Mr. P.C. Sharma, Cabinet Minister of Law and Legal Affairs Dept., in the presence of Mr. Gaurav Tiwari, CED of Mansarovar Group, PR Dept., Madhya Pradesh, and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Arun Pandey. More than 3000 students were present on Day 1 of the event, which was full of performances by various bands.

On Day 2 of the event, famous Bollywood singers like Mr. Sachet Tandon and Ms. Parmpara Thakur gave a live performance. All staff members and students enjoyed the performances and danced till the end of the event.


MGU Bhopal to organize International Conference

Mansarovar Global University Bhopal is set to organize an International Conference on ‘Advances in Sustainable Agriculture: Bioresources, Biotechnology, and Bio-economy’. The two-day event is scheduled from November 29 and 30 at Auditorium M.P. Council of Science and Technology Vigyan Bhawan, Bhopal.

The conference is organised by Mansarovar Global University jointly with PHSS Foundation for Science and Society. Interested candidates have to register at https://mguindia.in/pub/seminardashboard.php. The registration fee for Indian participants is INR 6500 and for Foreign participants, it is US$150.

Mansarovar Global University celebrates World’s Pharmacist Day

World’s Pharmacist Day was celebrated by Mansarovar Global University (MGU). The event was organized on September 25 by the Faculty of Pharmacy. Each year welcomes a new theme to developed to showcase the pharmacist in their positive effect on health. The theme of this year’s World Pharmacists Day was “safe and effective medicines for all”, according to the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP). The theme aims to highlight the key role that pharmacists play in protecting patient safety through improved medication use and reduced medication errors.

The event started with the arrival of chief guests - Shri K.C. Sharma (Site Head and Senior Vice-President Manufacturing) at Lupin’s Mandideep site and dignitaries Er. Gaurav Tiwari (CED) Mansarovar Group of Institutions, Dr. Arun Ku. Pandey (Vice-Chancellor) Mansarovar Global University, Col. H.R. Ruhil (Registrar) Mansarovar Global University and Dr. Vishal Gupta (Dean) Faculty of Pharmacy. The event was rolled on by welcoming the guests followed by Lightning of the holy lamp and Goddess Saraswati Vandana. The chief guest was felicitated by the Sapling to thanks them for taking out time for attending the program.

The program was further led forward by a welcome speech by Er. Gaurav Tiwari (CED) Mansarovar Group of Institutions for the guests and the gathering. Dr. Vishal Gupta (Dean of Pharmacy) highlighted the importance of celebration of World Pharmacist’s Day. The next event was followed by the sharing of valuable thoughts on Scope of Pharmacy’’

The keynote speech by Chief guest Mr. K.C. Sharma served as a facelift for the pharmacists in the health care system and also guided and motivated students.  The event was concluded by Vote of thanks by Col. H.R. Ruhil (Registrar) Mansarovar Global University.
