Dr. Parul Shah is the Assistant Professor of the Swarrnim School of Business, Swarrnim Startup and Innovation University, Gujarat. She holds a PhD in Economics and is in charge at the department of business. She acts as a mentor and a guide to every student of her department as well as the college. She provides some great views on her professional life.

What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“The various skills and qualities developed in us through education”

The excitement that education inherited in my mind for facilitating learning, or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs, and habits kept me engaged to join the Education sector. Educated students are my contribution toward my motherland and this is true patriotism. 

What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

“Open communication to motivate all the members of the college”

My leadership focus is to motivate my team members to contribute their support in my motto. As I said providing law-abiding and educated students to this society is my motto and the same is my lead. Educated and law-abiding citizens are the first motto of maximum teachers. I believe that Great Leaders Connect with Employees, Foster Collaboration and Embrace Continuous Change.

How do you strategize about the key programs and plans for the marketing and administration of your school?

“Social media platform and advertisement field are the strategies”

We have a great deal with various advertisement agents and social media. Social media platforms are one of the great strategies our institute uses for marketing and administration. Also, for marketing and administration, Institutes are having respective departments for taking care of the same and I believe staff at Swarrnim Startup and Innovation University is doing a very good job at it.

The education systems in India and other foreign countries are structured very differently. In your experience, what can an inbound student gain from studying here in your university?

“The practical experience of all the fields and streams with good facilities”

The practical guidance and experience are the key factors that make education parallel in our Nation and in international waters. The best way out is to connect a student’s academic study with the student’s life and I’m sure you will find amazing results. Practical knowledge is a key part of one’s educational journey and that shall facilitate the students with the best mix of academic and practical knowledge. 

How does the curriculum of the university ensure the best practice of Industry?

“The industry ready criteria to polish students with various skills and qualities”

The curriculum of the University is structured according to modern needs of the industry. The students are prepared to be industry ready. We have designed the syllabus according to the current market scenario and we invite experts from Industries to give practical education to our students as well as faculties. 

Any insights into how your university could before welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?

“The college promotes anti racism and follows the concept of equality”

The college is an education hub and thus doesn’t follow any races, caste discrimination. The students deserve to be treated as equal and must attain the level of education they deserve. Students in themselves are an entire community. It doesn’t matter what the background of the student is, everyone is treated equally and as a teacher all students are the same to me and hence I make sure to provide the same education and the same knowledge to all of my students.

How do you tend to establish a healthy relation and environment in your institute?

“Open and good communication over any issue and decisions for the institute”

Good communication is the main factor to keep the atmosphere and work environment healthy. Understanding and listening come second for a good environment. Students and faculty members should listen to each other’s concepts and problems in all the ways. They should act as a mentor as well as friends to the students of the college. Communicate openly and without judgment. Trust and respect each other and consistently make time for each other. Keeping small details about individuals about each other’s lives creates a strong impact on your peers. Engage in healthy activities together and stay connected.

What do you think should be the University’s top priority over the next 10 years?

“To become the foremost college and increase the levels of achievement”

Currently, we are in India’s top 50 universities and are aiming to get into the top 10 universities which should be the institute’s priority over the next 10 years. The college to focus on becoming the foremost university around the Country. We seek to provide world class education to the students of our college.
