Considering the grim reality thrown in by outbreak of Coronavirus, Karnataka State Law University (KSLU) has postponed the final year exams scheduled to be held from September 21.
KSLU issued an official statement on Thursday, August 27, that goes in line with thousands of students demanding a postponement.
The official statement reads, “The semester exams for law courses have been postponed from September 21 and intermediate exams from October 5 as sought by the students in view of the pandemic still persisting across the state.”
On Wednesday, KSLU has taken the decision after consulting with State Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, JC Madhuswamy.
Officials claim, “Though the students will be temporarily promoted to the next semester based on their performance in the internal exams held till March, they have to take the exams when they are held in the near future.”
Hence, as of now, KSLU will hold final year exams in October, this year, in online mode as per the directions of Bar Council of India.

The university will begin regular classes from September 1, 2020, in online mode to compensate for the academic losses due to institutions been shut down since lockdown was called out subsequent to COVID-19 outbreak in India.
The university has also declared, exams will be held only after classes continue for 45-60 days at a stretch.
Earlier, the state government had declared that students of both undergraduate and postgraduate courses will be promoted without exams. The decision as taken considering the fact that classes could not be resumed for the extended period of lockdown.

Hundreds of students in law colleges across the state sighed of relief, as KSLU postponed exams. The reason is, many students have gone back to their hometowns or rural areas as institutions have been shut down for long.
