National Digital Library of India [NDLI] is a project under the Ministry of Human Resource Development of India, in order to collect and accumulate metadata from various national and international digital libraries. The platform provides full-text index freely to students across India. This library has been headed by the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur since May 2006 when it was launched in pilot form. Since then NDLI has reaped many benefits to students as a digital repository containing textbooks, articles, videos, audiobooks and all other forms of learning media.

The NDLI portal is student-friendly, as students search the repository by clicking the “Search” button and feeding on the topic of study in the “Search” window. They also have the option to “Browse by Source” using the Browse button and then select the “Source” they are looking for.

NDLI can be accessed through the web or as a mobile application. Adequate online resources and e-learning material being accessible to students from home is the silver lining of the gloomy cloud that has been gnawing around.
