IPU CET 2021 will be conducted online for admission in various undergraduate and postgraduate courses.The exam is conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Technical University(GGSIPU) and the tentative date for the exam is in the last week of April,2021. The admission in the university is also made on the basis of the result of other national level examinations like JEE Main and NEET. Minimum eligibility criteria to appear in IPU CET 2021 is to pass class 12 with at least 50% aggregate marks for admissions in undergraduate program.For postgraduate program a bachelor degree with at least 50% marks is required.For SC/ST candidates a relaxation of 10% in the qualifying examination has been provided.

Pattern and Marking Scheme

IPU CET 2021 Question Pattern and Marking Scheme

The questions will be in the form of multiple choices with four options for each question.The pattern will be uniform for all the programs listed under CET. The medium of test will be English for all the CETs except B.Ed.The question paper for B.Ed will be available in both English and Hindi language

  • The total number of questions will be 100 for every CETs

  • Each question will carry four marks and one mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer as a penalty

  • Maximum marks for the paper will be 400

  • Negative marking system shall not apply for M.PHIL and PH.D. programs

  • Total time allotted for the online examination will be 150 minutes.

  • The candidates can change/modify/delete their choices in the online examination before submitting the final answer at the end of test

  • If the candidate did not submit within the stipulated time the test will be automatically submitted after the scheduled time.


Admission Based on National Level Test

There are certain programs for which admissions shall be made on the basis of other national level examinations.The university will not conduct any separate CET for such programs and the parameters will be based on the score secured in the concerned exam.

Conditions for Admission through National Level Test

  1. It is mandatory for all the candidates to appear in NEET UG/PG for medical courses.However,for PG Ayurveda it is necessary to appear in AIA PGET conducted under the capacity of AYUSH

  2. For B.Tech programs only JEE Main scores will be accepted for admission subjected to the eligibility criteria and prescribed cut off.

  3. For D.M/M.Ch it is necessary to appear in NEET Super Specialty Test.The university will not conduct separate examinations for super speciality courses.

  4. For admissions in MBA programs the candidates are required to appear in CAT or CMAT.If the seats will remain vacant after admissions through CAT and CMAT the university will consider CET scores for MBA programs

  5. All the applicants applying through national level tests are required to register online and fill the detailed application form.

  6. It is mandatory to provide the registration details of national level tests in IPU CET Application form.

  7. If any candidate did not provide the registration details or mentioned incorrect details then his/her candidature will be rejected and such decision will be irrevocable.


Syllabus

IPU CET 2021 Syllabus

IPU CET 2021 will be conducted for over 52 programs and courses on different dates.The syllabus for the entrance examination varies according to the course.For undergraduate programs the syllabus usually consists of general studies,english language and other course oriented subjects.In postgraduate programs the questions will be framed as per the graduation level.However,in some papers the level of English and other general subject will be of class 12. For most of the programs english and general studies are common subjects for entrance examination.There are a total of 100 questions and the weightage are bifurcated according to the application of subjects.

MA(English) English Language & Comprehension,General Awareness & Culture,Literature English Language & Comprehension-30%,General Awareness and Culture-10%.The Literature section will cover 60% weightage
MA(CRIM) General Knowledge,General Proficiency in English,Elementary Knowledge of social science,Understanding different faces of human behaviour English proficiency will be tested as of class 12 level.Remaining sections will have equal weightage in the questions.The paper will be generalised for the candidates of different streams.
M.Ed Teaching Aptitude, General Awareness and Logical Reasoning, English Communication and Skills. 40% weightage will be covered by TTeaching aptitude and remaining two sections will cover 30% each.
MA(Economics) Paper-1:Statistical and mathematical methods and introductory econometrics. Paper 2:Economic Theory(Microeconomics,Macroeconomics,International Economics,Development Economics and Monetary Economics) Paper 1 will have 30% weightage and the remaining 70% will be covered by paper 2 i.e. Economic Theory.
M.Sc (Medical Chemistry and Drug Design) Chemistry,Pharmaceutical Sciences(graduation level) 70% weightage will be covered by Chemistry and 30% from Pharmaceutical Sciences.

BCA English Language & Comprehension,Mathematics,Computer Awareness,General Knowledge(only IT and Science & Tech) English Language & Comprehension-15%, Mathematics-30%, Computer Awareness-30%, General Knowledge-25%
B.Ed Paper:1-English Comprehension Paper:2-Mental Ability and Reasoning Paper:3-General Awareness Paper:4-Aptitude for Teaching 15%, 40%, 25%, and 20% weightage will be there in paper 1,2,3 and 4 respectively.The questions will be available in both Hindi and English Language

Preparation Tips

IPU CET 2021 Preparation Tips

As per the university guidelines,IPU CET 2021 syllabus will be capped up to the level of concerned qualifying examinations.For example, if a candidate is appearing in CET for B.Tech-Biotechnology program then the questions in the entrance examination will be based on the course and syllabus of class 12.

  • It is suggested for the candidates to prepare with the help of study materials of their ongoing/completed course.

  • Questions in the entrance examination will be based on the books being circulated for class 11 & 12

  • For the general awareness and current affairs section the candidates should read specific magazines.

  • Candidates should read newspapers like The Indian Express,Economic Times,Hindustan Times etc for regular updates of current affairs.

  • Regular revision of the course of qualifying examination(class 12 or graduation) will be the most suitable way for the preparation of IPU CET 

  • Syllabus of General English and English Comprehension is generalised throughout the programs.One comprehensive book will be enough to prepare for the applied programs.

  • There are no specific books for program oriented sections like physics, chemistry, biology or mathematics.These subjects should be studied from the books prescribed in qualifying examination’s syllabus only

What will be the mode of examination?

Ans. : IPU CET 2021 will be conducted online as a computer based test.Candidates have to mark the appropriate response on the screen and it will be submitted at the scheduled time.

What are the parameters of negative marking?

Ans. One mark shall be deducted for each incorrect answer.However,the criteria does not apply in the entrance exam for M.Phil and Ph.D programs.

Shall I register online if I am seeking admission through JEE Main?

Ans. All the candidates seeking admission in Guru Gobind SIngh Indraprastha University shall register online and fill the application form.The candidates are required to fill the registration details of the national level entrance examination through which they are applying for admission.

I have not appeared for NEET UG.Can I apply for MBBS program in the university?

Ans. For admissions in MBBS and other undergraduate medical programs it is necessary to appear in NEET UG.No students can take admission in MBBS program without appearing in NEET UG.

Is there any specific study material for the preparation of IPU CET 2021?

Ans. The syllabus of entrance examination is based upon the level of concerned qualifying examination.If a candidate is appearing for B.Tech(Biotechnology) he/she is suggested to study and revise class 12 syllabus only.

Can I take the examination in Hindi language?

Ans. IPU CET 2021 shall be conducted only in English language.No other medium of examination is available.However,CET for B.Ed program will be conducted in both English and Hindi language.

I have not appeared for CAT.Can I apply for admission in MBA program?

Ans. MBA admissions will be made on the basis of CAT scores or percentile.If the seats will remain vacant then the admission will be made on CMAT score.If any more seats will remain vacant after the implication of CAT and CMAT score then the admissions to MBA program will be made on the basis of marks secured in IPU CET.
