FTII Rolls Out Online Writing Course for Television Fiction & Web Series; Check How to Apply


FTII has launched an online course in Writing for Television Fiction and Web Series. Interest candidates can visit the official website to enrol in the same. The last date to apply is September 11, 2020. Read the article below to get an insight of the course and know how to apply. 

Film and Television Institute (FTII) has rolled out an online course on Writing for Television Fiction and Web Series. The duration of the course will be 25 weeks, directed by Vinod Ranganath.

The last date to apply for an online course is September 11, 2020. Candidates who are interested in an online course can apply now as they enter the course on the basis of examination of applications and interviews.

The FTII offers a variety of online courses that students can take, which will not only expand their media knowledge but will also boost their Curriculum Vitae (CV).

The director of the course, Mr Vinod Ranganath, is a veteran in the field of film, television and theatre. He has worked alongside renowned artists and has written thousands of TV episodes, written storeys and screenplays for various movies.

FTII Online Writing Course: Mandatory Requirements

  1. A Desktop / Laptop having minimum 8 GB RAM, 1.6 GHz or better processor (Intel i3 or i5 or better).  (Windows / MAC)
  2. Operating system: a) Windows 7 or 8 or 10. b) MAC OS Sierra or later
  3. Audio – Video software: Latest versions of VLC player, Windows Media Player or Quick Time Player.
  4. Compatible good quality headphones/ earphones with mic
  5. Compatible HD webcam
  6. Fixed wired Internet connection with minimum speed of 10 Mbps, with approximate download limit of 6 GB per day. (Including three hours of online class and watching films as recommended by the course director.) 
  7. Web browser: latest version of Google Chrome (Preferred), Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari.

Note: Use of Mobile Phone/ iPad etc (in place of Laptop or Desktop Computer) to attend the classes is strictly prohibited. Such participants will not be allowed to join the classes.

FTII Online Writing Course: How to Apply

Students can follow the step-by-step procedure described below on how to apply online for an online course.

Step 1: The candidate must visit the following link: Click here

Step 2: The candidate must search and click on the FTII Fees Account.

Step 3: Select the 'Writing for Television Fiction and Web Series' online course.

Step 4: Pay the fees for the course as the case may be.

Step 5: Once the payment has been made, print the receipt and save it.

Step 6: The instructions will be posted on the official SBI Bank Collect website.

FTII Online Writing Course: Selection Criteria

Participants will be selected based on application and Statement of Purpose (SOP) followed by Interview.

FTII Online Writing Course: Certificates

All participants would be given participation e-certificates on successful completion of the course. Minimum 90% attendance is mandatory.
