GNDU to begin Online Exams for Exit Classes from September 22


GNDU will begin the final year exams in online mode from September 22. The practical exams will be held as an online viva-voce or presentation. Read details below.


Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) has declared the decision to conduct online examination for final year students from September 22. As a fact, students will be able to take their tests from the comfort of their homes. 

As per the Controller Examination, GNDU, Manoj Kumar, “We have to leave it to students because there is no other way. They will download the question paper and then upload the answer sheets. 

The varsity has made t arrangement is to keep students safe from Covid-19. Exams will start from September 22 and conclude on October 10.”

Meanwhile, GNDU will hold the practical examinations including viva-voce and presentation in online mode. All the colleges affiliated to GNDU will have to prepare lists of registered email IDs of each student. 

After this, the affiliated college will send test emails to each student stating all the examination guidelines. At least 4 days from the date of examination, the university will send a confirmation email to each student on their registered email ID.

In case there is no reply from the email ID provided, colleges will call the students to resolve the issue. Meanwhile, the test mail will also include details of exam format and answer sheet pattern. This will help students to be accustomed to new answer sheets.

GNDU Online Exam Guidelines 

GNDU students will be provided with links to question papers through email. Students can access these links only 15 minutes before the exam begins.

Time allotted for each exam is 2 hours and colleges will send the question 15 minutes before the exam commences.

The answer sheet has to be an A4 sheet paper. Students cannot attend more than 20 questions. Before submitting, students need to ensure they have written their roll no, subject code, subject and name of the college. They also need to sign on the title of the answer sheet.

After the exams are over, students will be alloted 30 minutes to upload and send their scanned copies or images (photos) of answer sheets. 

Students have to upload images, photos or scanned copies that need to be in readable format. The single PDF file has to be sent to the official email ID of the college. in a single PDF file. 

The whole process is therefore estimated to take 2 hours and 45 minutes.

In addition to this, colleges will have invigilators based on the class-strength and create emergency WhatsApp groups to address issues of students. In case of any problems faced by students, they can immediately call the invigilators or send a WhatsApp message.

After final submission of the answer sheets, students are advised to retain the hard copies safely and provide them to the University, if ever required. 

Colleges have been entrusted with the task of checking the quality of answer sheets uploaded by students so that they can ask for an additional copy, if they seem illegible.
