GTU Online Exams to Begin from July 30; Offline Exams to Commence from Aug 17

Gujarat Technological University (GTU)  made an announcement on 13 July that it will be conducting online examinations for undergraduate and diploma students, as well as postgraduate students, from 30 July onwards. The offline examinations are scheduled to be held from 17 August.

Earlier, the vice-chancellor of the university had said that the university would hold both online and offline examinations in MCQ-OMR format

According to a circular released by GTU, the duration of the examination will be the same as the marks for that particular question paper. For instance, for an 80-mark examination, students will be provided with 80 minutes to take the test, 70 minutes for a 70-mark examination, and so on.

Undergraduate and diploma students in their final year and all students in postgraduate courses must take one out of three examinations: the MCQ-type online examination that will begin on 30 July; the MCQ-type offline examination that will begin on 17 August; and the special MCQ-type examination that will be held in September through the student portal. Students who have filled the examination form will be given the options.

In all the papers, each MCQ will carry one mark, and there will be no negative marking for wrong answers. Students can take the examinations from a convenient place or from their institute, which will have to provide good Internet connectivity.

Students who opt for online tests will have to compulsorily take the pre-check trial test. Around 80,000 students will take the final-year examinations.

Previously, GTU Offline exams were scheduled from July 2, 2020, and GTU Online exams from July 21, 2020. However, the exams were postponed in light of the current situation caused by COVID-19.
